Why is it a stupid idea? There are so many logical reasons as to why he is wearing the cloak: Sand would ruin joints in the armor, he is hiding/rogue, or his suit is damaged somehow (given that there is a huge crack on his helmet).

I doubt he will be wearing it the whole time, and I think it is still a bit ridiculous to see people concerned about it.

But the cloak! The broken armor! It works on so many levels!
Where did he get it? It doesn’t fit the “theme” of the Halo universe. If people don’t wear medieval cloaks nowadays, why would they become popular in 500 years? Even if it were popular, how did he get one in his size? Did he find a seamstress out there?
Only if you buy a X1 LE Halo edition less than a year after launch…lol. The rest of us will have to do without

Dude, nobody complained about the torn cloak on the Scout armor on Reach.

The cloak most likely won’t appear in Halo 5 at all, much like Halo 3 never had Chief vs a horde of covenant and wraiths despite the trailer.
He could be going rouge. It Would be a cool armor permutation to have as like a vidmaster or for going Solo Legendary.

oh god…i would drop if i see another set of Vidmaster Achievements. Halo 3’s and ODST’s Vidmasters was enough for me, lol.

Personally I thought the cloak was totally BA! Really hoping that its in the full game.

I don’t have a problem with it. But I don’t think it would be customization option.
It would be cool to have, but maybe not as heavy as the chief’s.
i thought the cloak looked cool. i dont know why people hate it.
i do think some of the reasons for the cloak are dumb, ie protecting the suit of armor. that suit of armor has a shield that deflects machine gun rounds, a sandstorm isnt going to harm it.
the cloak does work great to blend into the surroundings. sand is brown, the cloak is brown. it also makes him appear as some kind of drifter or wanderer and not the greatest soldier in unsc history.

I have issues believing that a multi-billion dollar project for a power suit intended for all terrain and weather conditions would have excluded sand from their considerations despite history’s years upon years of desert warfare.
I think it was strictly for the sake of the trailer.
