I know Fiesta is supposed to be chaotic but a weapon that is effective at every range, has high splash damage and extremely high damage that can ricochet and be guided by player aim is so unfun to fight that I can barely put it into words.
I’m okay-ish with it in matchmaking, but god should it be nerfed in some way. Also the fact that it has a some kind of gravity effect, making movement when you’re caught in the first blast so infuriating. F this thing, especially in Fiesta where I have to deal with it so much.
The Cindershot is very inconsistent for me, 80% of the time it fails to damage my opponent, even unloading an entire clip into them wile they are boxed into a corner, full body hits, no damage. I on the other hand get killed by insane splash damage from that weapon, all someone has to do is fire it in my direction, and I’m dead.
TBH I think the Cindershot is a problem in a different way. Sure it can do a lot of damage, but only in the way OP described. It’s freaking useless against a Heatwave or Rockets which are faster and far more accurate. Sheesh even a Needler can outperform it.
I also don’t like the nerfing of weapons, what I would like, is the weapons to be more consistent for everyone. I constantly experience weapon damage inconsistency, only in this game, and the only other game I have played that I had similar problems, was BF4, long time ago.
Yea, it’s explosions have a black hole effect, kinda like the mythic beam rifle or the mythic plasma pistol in H5. That’s why you’ll notice it’s just impossible to escape the second and third blasts sometimes. It happens because you’re literally stuck in place from the explosion gravity effect lol.
On topic of the post, if you’re ever getting completely destroyed by someone using the cindershot, the best play is to try and flank them from the side or back if you know where they are.
The weapons effectiveness skyrockets while zoomed in, so usually players dominating with it are spending a lot of time in smart scope. Usually when they’re smart scoping they’re also not keeping a good eye on their radar, and they have a really shallow PoV. That makes attacks from any direction other their front very effective
You can do some interesting skill jumps with it, though you would be dumb to actually do it with how prevalent the grapple shot is.
I don’t think the alt-fire/guided shot has any of the drawbacks of traditional smartscope. It is just a different mode like the cindershot. Unless you are talking about engaging them while they are guiding shots, then they’ll be focused on that instead of you shooting them.
I can safely say that I have never been in a game of Fiesta and been annoyed that the opponent was getting the cindershot too often. Sword and rockets yes but never the cindershot.
Sure it’s versatile but it’s not a super quick kill like other power weapons and, like some others have also commented, I find it’s damage to be rather unreliable anyway.
I absolutely love the cinder shot. I truly believe hcs ruined the sandbox of Halo Infinite because these new weapons never got a chance to shine in hcs. Instead hcs moved backwards towards an older more traditional setting for competitive.
I’d be upset too because the cinder shot absolutely shreds. Id be upset if my opponents got rockets and I got a plasma pistol. Fiesta is random and that’s really just how it goes.
It would be nice if it was a bit more consistent with when it explodes after a bounce. Sometimes it seems like it explodes immediately after the first bounce and other times it will bounce and then sail way behind the enemy and explode. This makes it difficult to figure out where to aim when not zoomed in and going for the bounce technique.
