It’s funny when I hear people complaining about the DMR being OP, I recently started using the Covenant Carbine in Halo 4 multiplayer and I can devastate whole enemy teams, something I couldn’t do with a DMR. The Carbine has such a high RoF that I’m amazed more people aren’t using it.
I use it all the time. I think people are just put off by how weak it is. But it definitely makes up for it in how many shots you can fire in a firefight compared to how many in the BR/DMR.
Indeed, I can kill DMR users much quicker than they can kill me, I had the Carbine for a while but never used it until today.
It is my most used weapon at the moment and it’s high ROF really compensates for its lack of damage.
The DMR is definitely a long-range weapon. I love using the Carbine against people with the BR and hear them rage through the mic. XD But all aside, I think the DMR is only really useful if
- The other guy’s an idiot.
- You’re target doesn’t see you.
- They’re across the map and can’t see you, because they’re an idiot.
I love the Carbine but just barely started using it. My hands hurt from too much DMR shooting so the carbine scares me.
Personally, my playstyle does not have any room for the Carbine. I have tried it but it’s rather weak; the ROF is fast as hell but it simply does not give me any excuse to use it anymore besides for funs.
However, my mind could be changed if there is some of unspoken aiming tricks that the commmunity doesn’t talk about to make the so so weapons viable.
