So, as you may have seen or heard, that both the BR and DMR will be in Halo 4. Seeing as the covenant will return as well, are there any Carbine fans out there who wish to see a return of this fast green plasma shooting beast? I sure am one.
Let’s hope the DMR doesn’t replace this weapon and they figure out a way to implement all 3, and maybe even the needle rifle!
Would be nice to see either the Carbine or the Needle Rifle back. They did mention additions, so we could still see the Needle Rifle and Carbine. If that is so, there sure would be a lot of weapons to choose from.
they could have all four or more persision rifles…[/color]
specials
needler rifle= a little less power but if you hit another bullet that has already hit the guy or three shots to the body or however it goes u get the combustion
carbine= single shot but you can shoot numerous shots quickly
br= three shot burst (alone not very effective but together very effective)
dmr= a little slower but is the most powerful of itself and the 3 above.
new forerunner persision rifle (or whoever the new enemy is)= somthing new that 343 can come up with.

Hmm the DMR is more accurate than carbine right? personally i’d take carbine over the addition of the DMR anyday, at least the Carbine didn’t make long range kills extremely easy and prevent map-movement.
It seems very unnecessary to be making a thread whose title is essentially “begging” the game developer to include the posters idea or suggestion.
that is a very immature attitude if you ask me. And it seems like a lot of thread starters have been doing this.
When Halo 2, and 3 were in development I honestly can’t remember a lot of begging like this going on. But then again the demographic that plays halo has drastically shifted.
it reminds me of little children begging their parents in the store for an item.

Would you enjoy if I changed the title then? Just for you? the mature one. Also, when you actually read what I said, it is clear that I am not asking 343 or “begging” 343 to put it in the game. In fact, I’m asking the community for their opinions.
No, sorry OP but I can’t see any reason to add it, at least for MP.
For close-mid you’ve got AR, mid-semi long you’ve got BR, semi-long to long you’ve got DMR. Crabine was a BR clone with some dMR elements and a lot of randomness, just like th eNeedle Rifle is just a faster DMR clone.
Needle rifle is more likely to return since it’s easier to balance, but not likely since it’s way to similar to DMR. Halo does not need 3 guns that does the same think but look a little different, CoD does that great and no one ever uses them. Let’s have guns worth using instead, balanced guns.
If Carbine were to return, it should be campaign/forge only weapon imo.
I would love to see the Carbine from Halo 3 Beta return. Now before you ask why Halo 3 Beta and not Halo 3 is because in Halo 3 Beta you didn’t have to land all head shots like the one in Halo 3. The one in Halo 3 was not effective enough when you had a enemy shooting at you with a BR. Like for example your using the BR and a with a 3 shot burst weapon agents a single shot weapon that you had to land all head shot with was not a far and balance if you ask me. One took skill to land every shot and the other didn’t.
-NR has automatic fire, Carbine has semi-auto
-NR causes enemies to respond (armor locking, diving), Carbine just hits them
-NR has bloom, carbine has spread
-NR rounds have special properties, carbine doesn’t
-NR does low damage, Carbine does low-medium damage (it seems to be buffed in ODST)
I’d like to see both although I’d prefer an improved Carbine.
I still don’t get what the point in having two single shot long range weapons is. We only need one. Either add a DMR or a Carbine. Both is not necessary.
Hopefully the only time the DMR will beat the BR is long range. It’s not worth bringing back lots of peoples favourite weapon if it’s just going to get beaten by it’s predecesor.
Also, this means we will be seeing the army in Halo 4 as that’s the only branch of service that still uses the DMR.
Speaking of Carbine (hope it returns), might as well have the Beam Rifle show its face. Man with all these old weapons returning, it just makes me even more interested in what new weapons they have.
