> It’s seriously the only weapon that takes skill to use in Halo 4.
I’m pretty sure every weapon requires some minimal amount of skill to use. Just because the carbine is harder to use does not mean it is more skillful.
No, there shouldn’t be a god weapon to rule them all in any Halo game. It was my biggest beef with Halo 2/3 (even though you could still do well enough with other weapons), and it was one of the biggest problems with Halo 4 prior to the balancing update.
I don’t agree about the Lr’s scoped advantages needing to be removed. I have “mastered” it, and worked with it enough for it to be my most used weapon, but for me, the scoping in and out, especially on smaller maps, is very difficult.
I have not been able to be consistent with it. I’m working on it and will continue. Maybe I’m just stubborn, but I really want to get to the point where I can do well with it in all kinds of scenarios.
Basically keep it as it is. The Carbine is a fav of mine also. I love the RoF.
> Halo 3 Magnum still stands as the most legit skillful starting weapon.
^ This. I’d like to see those who can get a 5sk with the dmr with ease try to get a 5sk with Halo 3’s magnum. With no scope, no bloom, and little aim assist, that thing is arguably the most skillful precision weapon out of all the Halo games.

Let’s not forget that it has no magnetism whatsoever. Something that can’t be said about any of the weapons in Halo 4.

What was the point of bringing the Reach magnum back anyways? We have 4 ranged precision rifles to start off with now, and the pistol is the slowest kill time out of all of them. Even if its a clean up weapon for full autos, does it really need a scope?

The 4 pistol actually has the fastest kill time of any scoped loadout weapon. Even post weapon tuning.

That only makes me question why it has scope even more.
Carbine headshots (unshielded) are actually fairly easy, imo.
But the real point is that the BR promotes team play. Peek shotting is extremely effective in teams and that’s what Halo’s been all about since the introduction of XBox Live back in the H2 days.
The Carbine is kinda suited for 1v1 scenarios, landing every shot on your opponent’s head is difficult, but then again:
BR bursts promote clever use of the environment, while the Carbine is a sort of wide-in-the-open weapon.
So, no. BR starts are fine, but make the Carbine a pickup weapon.
> Yeah no, try 4 shotting with the light rifle at close range.
I recently have been trying this, and I feel like I’m back to square one. I am back to a lot of negative games, but the little bit of success I do have keeps me going back for more.
They should change the DMR to reflect its ammo. It should be a rapid fire 8sk, with a larger magazine. It’s kill time should be on par with or slightly faster than the carbine
