Anyone else feel like it was underwhelming and boring to use? I think it was an extremely mediocre gun.
It was meh. The old shotgun is better but it’s okay I guess, maybe I just need to get used to it. I think I liked that they were trying something different with a faster RoF shotty instead of a more powerful but slower one. If they fixed aim assist on controller I might feel better about it.
Filling an enemies vizor with rapid fire shotgun shells? Nah, I enjoyed it.

It was definitely nice to get kills with, but it felt odd in general, maybe it’s just me…

Yeah, I’m no hardcore purist, so I’m all for new changes (faster shotgun), however the weapons design didn’t really do it for me
and yes, I’m sure a bit of aim assist would assist console players
I loved it. I think everyone is too used to one shot kills for shotguns. The old shotgun should be a power weapon. The bulldog is awesome at CQC, but not overpowered.
It feels very similar to old shotgun if you follow up a shot with melee. Drops enemies fast if you do that.

It could just be the wonkiness of aiming in general during the flight, there were definitely aim assist, or acceleration, or something or other issues that made it feel just the slightest bit off.

Yeah, even on PC the weapon felt difficult to use, it could have something to do with the flight
I think it can hit a little weak but it felt impressive to use because of the sound/rumble feedback. Getting an Off the Rack medal with this thing felt really good.
I’d be lying if I said I didn’t enjoy using the Bulldog. It’s no classic shotgun though which may be okay in the Infinite sandbox.
I was actually very impressed with the Bulldog. It felt much more exciting to use than the old shotguns.
Felt like a much more active use shotgun than the old 1 shot and then put it back in the pocket.
I felt like I could actually use this as a primary weapon and be successful.
I really looked forward to seeing it in a match and would actively want to use it.

It certainly is different than what I’m used to, maybe there’s just something I liked better about the old “1 shot and then put it back in the pocket”

So glad someone else gets it. The OG shotgun is so boring by comparison with it’s OHK at melee range but peashooter damage beyond that. The Bulldog is not as powerful but it has greater versatility because of the range buff. It blows my mind why people keep clamouring for the OG shotgun when it’s so limited compared to the Bulldog
It’s a good weapon, but an actual shotgun needs to be there as well.
I loved it. It wasn’t like the older shotguns but it had a different niche.
My problem with it may have just been the flight tech problems. I noticed the one shot kill range to be… Inconsistent. I would often have enemies in my face close enough head but, but the shotgun may not even take down their shields. But then I would be about 10ftish away and kill a full should enemy in one shot?
Other then that I like it. Maybe up the fire rate a tad?
The Bulldog isn’t a replacement for the Shotgun, that’s why it feels weird, it occupies a different role in the sandbox. The Bulldog is meant to be a non-power weapon shotgun, something that is more flexible in range, has a faster fire rate, and is great at pulverizing shields. So the reason it feels weird for a Halo shotgun is that it isn’t THE shotgun.
I dont really want to judge the guns too harshly at this time. There was something wrong with hit detection or aim assist intermittently throughout the flight. I had situations in which I was 100% certain I missed with a sniper but somehow got a headshot. Other times I would load into a dude with the shotgun and somehow need 5 shots to kill. It was odd but when it felt like it was working it was a fun gun.

I think it just takes time to embrace something new.
Like I’ve always said, give something new a chance to shine.
You’d be surprised at how refreshing it is to have a change like this in the sandbox. I can say that for a lot of guns in Infinite. I was quite weary about the Pulse Carbine when I first saw it last year but after using it in game I love the thing. Same for the Commando.

I do love the commando, I guess you’re right about giving it some time
Honestly it’s just a human skinned mauler.
I would still really like to see the Classic Shotgun added to the game. It’s my baby.
