anyone remembers the brute in the opening cinematic of Halo4 it seems like all enemies are the original size in this game does that mean the brutes will be that big in Halo5 or 6 if they re introduce them O_O
Not sure, it’d be really cool to see a Brute in his actual humongous size in a future Halo game! It would look so intimidating!

haha yeah they look even bigger than a hunter

In all honesty that brute was a chieftain so he would probably be closer to 10-11 feet in comparison to the average brute size of 9 or so. Hunters are about 12 feet and the didact himself is about 15, so it is good to see how huge these aliens really are.
I actually want to see a protagonist Brute, very much like the Arbiter in the next two games, which would bring the feuding species together, forcing them to set aside their animosity to fight the massive Flood invasion to come.
hell no. burn their mongrel hides!

This. I’ve always seen the Brutes characters as being rather flat; and they have the potential to be so much more. Think about it, the Brutes are always depicted as “bad guys”. Other Halo races are much more diverse an atypical. We see both bad and good humans, devious and heroic Forerunner, conniving and honourable Sangheili. Halo could benefit from a Brute protagonist.
I’d like to play as a brute, like in 2 as the Arbiter. As for their appearance in the future, I have no idea.

Man, I really can’t help but think that Humanity are so physically pathetic compared to most other alien species in Halo. Even the Spartans are 7ft 6 or 7ft 8 at the most. Although, in the Epilogue of the Halo 4 campaign, when you see chief walk past Palmer, he towers over her, keep in mind that Commander Palmer is 6ft 9 which by Human standards is very tall and Chief looks about 2 ft taller in that cutscene.

That was most likely just a mistake or trick to make the scene cooler, he’s really not that tall. Humans are pretty tiny compared to species like the Sangheili and the Jiralhanae. As the Prophet of Regret said: “Such a frail thing. You would hardly think them a threat.”
Really only forerunners (warrior-rate), brutes, an elites are physically superior to humans. Hunters are technically like 100 little worms that work really well together.
2 of the three races have great cultural issues that limit their potential, likely due to their greater physical forms making them less humble.
On a modern battlefield though, size isn’t everything. If a grunt had the same quality of training, gear, and bravery an elite had, they’d probably be about on par. Sure an elite is tougher and faster, but the grunt is a smaller target.

+1
I like the idea to play as one of them. But not against humans - may be as a neutral/rouge side. A bit like the arb in H2 before they allied with the humans.
So for H5 there should be Spartans/Elites/Brutes for Multiplayer :p.
I have had the idea (if there will be 2 campaigns in H5): that one could be for MC the other for Arbiter.
And in the Arbiter Campaign: we could give some missions to the brutes. So we can play as one of them for a few missions - may be 1/3 or 1/2 of the Arbiters playtime – AND: it will be still the Reclaimer Triology > cuz MC has his own campaign: lengh 1/1.
So H5 campaign:
- 100% MC
- 55% Arbiter 45% Brute (need a name here).
… and if not for H5 … it might be good for H6.
The Brutes, Chieftain, in the opening are around 9’6, compared to who I presume is John who is 7’3 in armor, meaning the Brute is accurate height wise to John with previous Brutes in games. The Average adult Brute is over 8 feet tall, with the strongest being up to 9’6, meaning generally the strongest is what you will be facing in game or seeing in cut scenes.
Hunters are over 12 feet tall, and while hunched down in a defensive position are slightly over 9 feet tall, with the Promethean Knights being over 10 feet tall, the Didact himself is even larger.
In general compared to Halo 4’s introduction to the strongest among the Forerunner’s and the Prometheans, the Brutes are not very large, mostly Brutes are just muscular and can weigh over 1200 pounds.
Heres the concept art, scale, of the Brute Chieftain standing next to John.
Also, Palmer is not 6’9 with out Mjolnir equipped, she is instead around 6’3 without her armor, helmet, on, really bored of seeing people think she is 6’9 without armor. John is taller than Palmer while naked, this is with her full armor on as he is 6’10 without his armor equipped, the Epilogue cut scene is accurate, stop saying it is not.
You people exaggerate height differences so much, instead you should be comparing a Palmer without her helmet equipped, roughly 6’7 to a fully armored John who is nearly 7’4 with his armor equipped, that is a huge difference in height and that is what you are seeing in the epilogue.
I think the size is accurate, someone on the forums mentioned earlier that they’re likely scaled down slightly in-game for gameplay reasons. Which makes sense.
(By the way, the Chieftain shown in the cutscene is likely from the end of the CGI trailer from Halo 3)

I think they should stay as enemies, they’re flat as characters due to their barbarian nature and lack of empathy.
Now if the Didact wanted to compose the Jiralhanae… now that’s a cause I could get behind. Burn their mongrel hides indeed!
I highly doubt anyone could answer this question let alone if brutes will be in Halo 5 or 6. However if brutes are in Halo 5 they should definitely be this size, this is how big they should be; I’m not familiar with them ever being smaller but I could be wrong.
For those saying that it would be cool to have brute allies. Consider, that in Halo Evolutions in the story “Stomping on the Heels of a Fuss”, assuming it’s canon, it clearly states that Brutes are natural human predators, even beyond the war.

Which is something i couldn’t comprehend. How can an alien be a natural predator of humans?
Unless that goes back to ancient relations.
That’s the way all Brutes should have been. Imagine fighting an army of those in Halo 3.
