The BR's ROF is really, really weird.

They didn’t change the rate of fire. No seriously, they didn’t. I tested it in Theater mode myself. The ROF is EXACTLY the same as it was before the update. And because it’s an 11 bullet kill, its kill time is now an absolutely ridiculous 1.33 seconds, way ahead of the DMR (1.47 seconds), and more importantly, WAY ahead of the Carbine (1.4 seconds). Insane. 343 needs to fix this immediately. I was shocked when I discovered this.

UPDATE: As it turns out, the BR’s rate of fire is not EXACTLY the same as before. However, I discovered that for whatever reason, the BR’s rate of fire CHANGES every other shot. After the first shot, the interval is the same as before, but after the next. the interval is one frame slower. This makes the BR have a killtime that is either 1.37 seconds or 1.4 seconds, depending on which shot you start with. WTF? I hope 343 changes this to a more constant ROF and make all shots have slower intervals, because this is just another random factor put into the game.

OP kept for my derpiness.

They did nerf its rate of fire.

They did nerf its RoF.

NO they didn’t. I tested it in Theater with the frame by frame function. It is no different from what it was before. Say what you want, I have evidence and you only have belief.

If they did or didn’t the game plays more how I want the game to be now so I’m not concerned.

The Battle Rifle damage has been increased. The Battle Rifle is now capable of killing in four bursts.
<mark>The Battle Rifle rate of fire has been slightly decreased.</mark>
The Battle Rifle red reticle range (range at which auto-aim benefits kick in) has been decreased.
Two bursts from a Battle Rifle followed by a melee will now kill an opponent (2-shot melee).

The BR is fine now, move on.

Well obviously they didn’t change it, because the game tells otherwise. If it makes a difference, I did all of my testing in the Slayer Pro gametype from the Infinity Slayer playlist.

See the thing is we can’t see your “proof” that you half yoinked in theater mode, so please give it an upload to YouTube. Otherwise I’m going to believe Quinn and 343i when they say it got a ROF nerf.

BTW they said its a small one so the BR will have a similar cadence as before.

You can easily test it yourself. I don’t have the ability to upload it to Youtube. I know I sound like I’m a hater and that I pulled this out of my butt, but I swear I’m telling the truth. I’m not trying to sound like a hater, I’m just telling what I saw.

“Balancing” is not the same as “making the BR the main weapon”.

If what the OP says is true, people should be concerned.

I’m not the one making accusations.

Playlist dependent I believe. I’ve been playing a lot of FFA lately and the BR has been quite dominant. I am yet to play some games on bigger maps to assess whether it works over range so well also - I suspect it won’t as it was never that good in BTB prior to now.

OP… the changes are applied server side, meaning they only take effect over MM. So they wouldn’t show up in a local forge or custom game lobby. They did nerf the ROF in MM.

I downloaded the gametype after playing a game on it. So yes, these are the settings from matchmaking.

Then either that method doesn’t work anymore or you are doing something wrong. Because I have timed the old settings in the past and the time you gave is exactly the same time it takes the BR to fire 4 bursts under the old settings, whereas 343i have stated multiple times that they have indeed nerfed the ROF to accompany the new 4sk. If after months of testing and multiple bulletin announcements 343i indeed has messed up, then I’ll eat plenty of crow on this one. But I’m fairly certain that is not the case.

I did it when I first got the game, and I just did it an hour ago with the new settings. The rate of fire is no different. Don’t shoot me, I’m just the messenger. Just trying to help. I’ll test it again later, though. If I am indeed wrong (which would be crazy because I tested it multiple times to get myself to believe it), then I’ll edit my post to say that it was a false alarm. But if I’m right, then this needs to be fixed ASAP. I wanna use the Carbine really badly. I don’t want to use it when everyone is using a broken BR.

Just please stop. stop. stop. stop. stop. The game is making its way on track, I think the update was pretty good and the weapons function the way they should. I don’t know how you died to a BR at long range but chances are you weren’t at the right range for the gun you used and the BR showed you up because that was its best.

Please upload gameplay to youtube

Also. I suggest you change the topic title to “BR’s ROF is unchanged” or something like that.

Did you even read my post? I’m saying that the BR still fires as fast as it did before. I never said anything about range whatsoever.

As I said, I don’t have the ability to upload a video. I really wish I could because I probably sound like an a-hole right now.

Oh, and the title is fixed. The previous one invited more flaming I guess lol.
