I played some Halo 3 throebath before and I remember how bad the BR is! This thing is fickfuc useless! It’s a little better than Halo 3’s BR but the Halo 5’s gameplay make it seem 100 times worst! Even an AR in mid range can easy beat a BR! And it supposed that BR is a mid range weapon! This is stupid! At the beginning Halo 5 had the best weapon balances ever! And with the update you -Yoink- it all up! Please fix the BR and the SMG at least!

At least compares to ever other precision weapon with the exception of maybe gunfighter magnum. That now sits at 6 shots to kill rather than 5. Not much of a power weapon pickup anymore…

The BR still takes 4 shots to kill. You’re just more likely to miss with it.
The gunfighter magnum is barely in Arena in the first place, and it was changed because 343 wanted it in Arena.
You should either avoid picking it up or learn to get good with it because they’re done tuning the weapons.
I’m so confused, I find the battle rifle so easy to use now.
Its hard for me to believe that people think the current br is so bad and is somehow worse than the ar in midrange. The only way the ar is even viable out to midrange these days is by smartlinking, crouching, and burstfiring. I couldn’t imagine how many complaints there would be if you had to do smartlink and crouch with a br. When using the ar at mid range in this manner, it’s all over once they start shooting back because you typically get descoped for being a sitting duck and then you’re out of your rrr and you have to seriously stop crouching and start dodging. The only way it works is in conjunction with cover.

They upgraded the smartlink for the gunfighter magnum, because before it was basically a pistol with iron sights when you would aim. I honestly like it better than I used to. I find it is like a fun size carbine because of the similar rates of fire. But that is a big ttk increase assuming both versions of the gunfighter magnum have the same rof so I can see why you don’t like it as much.
Smg needs to be fixed and idk I loved how the br use to be but I won’t deny saying it was overpowered and broken. And the br isn’t that bad. I just feel try to use it like it’s old self. Don’t and you’ll see that it’s actually good

The Halo 5 BR is pretty bad post-update, but Halo 3 bad? C’mon man you know that isn’t true. It can still be a (somewhat) useful weapon at mid-close range, but it was definitely a better weapon before the weapon tweaking update. It can still beat ARs and poor Magnum users (like me) at mid-range. Competent Carbine and Magnum users absolutely destroy it though. Here’s to hoping they go back to something closer to the launch BR for Halo:Infinite.
I dislike any playlist that requires the H5BR now. In arena I’ll only pick up the h2BR. In btb…I’ll only play that cause friends are in a big party. In WZ…I dont even equip the h5 BR. It just straight out feels bad to use. It’s inconsistent for me, the range where I feel I’d have RR I don’t, and overall just feels so bad. Imo of course.
While I am not a big fan of the H5BR if an AR is beating you at mid range that has more to due with your skill and not the weapons. The BR will beat an AR at mid range with the proper skill set. The BR is still a four shot kill. The one thing I feel H5 got right was weapon balance. The weapons just take a lot more practice and getting used to. My gripe about the H5BR is just the look, feel, and especially sound isn’t near as good as the H2BR.

The AR can’t really miss, the AR is really only viable if all of the shots land in the proper places, and even then it would still lose to 4 bursts. Otherwise the BR pretty much outperforms it everywhere else because it still does better damage while still being similar in how it handles.
Unless I spawn with a BR, I just stick with the magnum

Yes the BR take 4 shots to kill but a perfect kill with the magnum is still faster than a perfect BR kill
H2 BR all day. Wish they would take out all H5 BRs in arena maps and replace them with the H2 BR.
The patched H5 BR is good for warzone and btb, so I understand the need for the nerf.

Wrong there, every time I’m in that situation and I don’t nail the fourth shot the ar destroys me but, when I have the ar and the opponent doesn’t nail the fourth shot I got him!

Rarely happens to me. I hardly ever get killed by the AR in general unless it’s a clean up kill, I was double teamed or the guy got the drop on me.
I liked it before it was patched , kinda feelt like a semi power weapon ( it was better then the pistol clearly and gave you an advantage but not too big so you still have to be atleast skilled on par with your oponnent ) now i could only tolerate it as a start weapon instead of the pistol . i dont see much reason to pick it up when a pistol is avaivable besides that it is a little bit more confortable to aim. its defenitive not the mega weapon it was in H2/H3 in an AR start match but it has also to do with the ADS mechanic making even basic weapons long range capable and thus moving the weapons out of their special place/ roll they had making them again feel mroe similar and thus having the right weapon isnt really a important skill like it was wich is more highlightet by the equal number of “trashguns” in H5
