It wasn’t really that big of a surprise to me honestly. I was hoping to see at least see if a weapon like the BR’s counterpart would be shown because I have my doubts of the Carbine returning for some reason.
I’m glad they showed us the BR is coming back. Everyone was talking about the DMR possibly coming back and i was relieved when they showed the BR. although i do wish they would have shown the counterpart like you said. I don’t think the needle Rifle or the Carbine are coming back.
Don’t forget that they specifically said that the BR was not coming back as a replacement for the DMR, and that single shot weapons are still going to have a place in the game. They’re expanding the weapon and vehicle sandboxes more than they have done before, so I’m quite excited to see what kind of stuff we’ll get to play with!
But to reply to the main point of this thread, I’m somewhat glad we haven’t been shown more than we did, since there’s no need to give us too much info when there are still many months left before release, right?

The DMR was the least of my worries, because it wouldn’t make any sense for it to come back at all after we’ve been using Battle Rifles for Halo 2 & 3. Not that I would’ve minded it coming back
For one the dmr was a prototype of the BR so I don’t no why people didn’t already know it would be back. Also in the video where there recording the gun sounds you could hear a 3 burst shot weapon so everyone should’ve already known. Besides why would he leave with a BR and come back with a dmr? Lol sounds kinda stupid.
He left with an AR.
Yeah I’m with hotrod192 on this one. we don’t need to much info right now they already said there’s a lot more info in the coming months. Besides that it would take the fun out of it if we didn’t have anything to be excited about right?
Yeah he did leave with an ar but do you know how many BRs and ARs were on the ship way more then enough. Smart -Yoink-.
They said the BR was coming back but they didn’t say the AR was being removed, so you might still start the game with an AR. At least they haven’t removed it to my knowledge.
i say they should have both in for people can choose which 1 to use, since it has custom classes

The BR prototypes were ALREADY BRs in 2525. Reach happens in 2552.
The DMR is a branch-specific weapon given to the Army, in the same way the MA37 is given to them over the MA5.
