The boltshot's range was nerfed. AR's wasn't.

I come from Quake where twitch factors are highly demanded for it’s railgun. I found that twitch factor in Halo 4’s boltshot because of it’s twitchy gameplay, that you could perform while running and gunning with my carbine and thruster pack.

I’m a fair and honest player, so I always look for balanced, fair competition. The boltshot’s range was OP and I was always vocal about it’s nerf while still using it.

On the other hand, the AR doesn’t take any skill to use, yet it’s range remains unchanged.

Why would something that takes a significant bigger amount of skill, but still demanded a justified nerf ( the boltshot, ) be nerfed before something that was even more OP and forgiving on top of that ( the AR )?

The AR should get a range decrease.

The AR is a primary weapon, not a secondary weapon.

The issue is with an OP secondary weapon that is a 1 shot kill. Granted, it’s still a one shot, but at least it’s range has been reduced.

The AR as a primary weapon is inferior to most of the other primary weapons when averaged across all of the maps. You can’t seriously suggest the AR is more powerful than the DMR.

I think you’re the first person I’ve seen calling for an AR nerf, so either this is a troll or you’re way off the mark.

as soon as the bs was nerfed its only logical another cqb weapon will be the best.

Thats why having so many clone spawn weapons is pointless, there will always be 1 gun to rule them all

AR shreds the DMR in cqb, I dont see why one would complain about the DMR

And the DMR kills the AR in Mid/Long, I don’t see your point.

Unless I’m very far away from the charging AR sprayer, I’ll get fragged while still landing every shot in the mentioned player’s head with my carbine.

Before that, I could fend him of with my boltshot.

I guess, that you could say, that the boltshot-carbine combo has been crippled a lot.

Are you kidding me? This guy is kidding right? Ugh. The ARs range is fine main,y because its a CQB weapon not a long range weapon. DMR kills it in long range. I can say that because my favorite weapon is the AR. But yeah, the AR is fine.

it’s a close quarters combat weapon,it actully makes sicne when you die at CLOSE range,simply just stand back and you’ll be just fine.

The ARs in previous Halo titles were nerfed as you wish. They were just above useless with their range and damage.
The Halo 4 AR preforms just as intended with complete stopping power at close quarters, but falling short at medium to long range where precision weapons take over.

As others have already mentioned, the Boltshot is a secondary weapon, and could easily out-preform a power-weapon. The AR is a primary, and should remain in its current state.

AR is ridiculous. 90% of my deaths yesterday were from this -Yoinking!- thing. And to say its only a CQC weapon, I beg to differ. I died multiple times yesterday from 30-40M from a spray and pray, no bursting was involved. Every bullet hit me and I died before I could 5 shot with the BR.

Correct me if I’m wrong but the DMR has a faster time to kill then the AR, not to mention it easy to use, can kill more players before reloading, reloads faster and can be easily used at any range.

Judging by the recent patch however they may nerf the AR and make the Plasma pistol a one hit kill.

The DMR’s rate of fire should be lowered, IMO.

watched your stats, 695 kills with boltshot , and 100 with AR and id say just play with the AR a bit more…

k… if I agree that the AR gets a range Nerf… but only if the DMR gets turned into a paintball gun.

how dare you say the AR is OP, go play some halo reach and see how useless the thing is. since halo 3 its had a decent amount of range and was able to kill just as fine as H4’s AR. But its a lot easier since theres all these perks to make it seem OP like dexterity and mobility its the type of gun that does well in dominion on exile and haven. and if you think this is “spray and pray” you’ve never used the halo CE AR on PC. Not to mention you can counter it with jetpack easily

No. I find it extremely rewarding when I am patient enough to kill someone from a decent distance with controlled bursts from my AR. Usually it’s picking someone off whose shields are already down, but it is still fun. Decreasing its range would nullify this.

Plus it’s not OP whatsoever.

You guys absolutely suck then. Or you just expect to beat it at CQC with a freaking BR.

P.S. There’s no such thing as “spray and pray” in Halo. With the AR, you need to make every single shot hit if you have any hope of getting a kill. There’s ZERO spray factor.
