The Boltshot is not at all overpowered.

Don’t believe me? Take a look at my stats.

  • I have 0 kills with the Boltshot (total kills: 1262).
  • I have 5 deaths from the Boltshot (total deaths: 826).
  • The Bolshot accounts for a whopping 0.6% of my total deaths.
  • All five of those deaths occured in Regicide. That’s right; I’ve literally never** been killed by the Bolshot in any team playlist.
I have no idea why you people seem to have so much trouble with this gun. For the record, I’m very disappointed with Halo 4, and I don’t think it’s anywhere near the level of the original trilogy. I think most of the complaints that people have with it are completely legitimate. The Boltshot, however, is one example of people whining for no reason.

1262 kills isn’t even enough to make any of your opinions valid. If you actually tried using the bolt shot, which you havent, you will find it’s over powered.
I have 19,000 kills and I’ve already mastered the bolt shot. It’s too good.

That’s why nobody ever kills me with it, right?

You haven’t played and won enough games in all of the playlist for True skill to affect you. After a while you start playing better and better players, a while after that you start to notice nothing but DMR/Boltshot load outs because they’re clearly the best 2 choices and you need every advantage against the better players who use this combo.

The problem is that boltshot forces you to play a different way because you know that at any point you could come around a corner and get gibbed. Like, Adrift is a nightmare going down the long narrow corridors rather than going along the route with the stairs and then lifting across. Also, you often can’t chase a weak player alone around a corner since he could be using a boltshot and neutralize any shot advantage you have on him.

I’m sure it is a factor in most people voting for Haven over any other map. Sure, it is a good map, but I’d say a large part is the fact that you can’t boltshot camp on it very well.

With 19000 kills you must have masterd all the weapons by now?

How do you reason kills vs mastered weapon vs overpower? If you use one weapon only you will master it in a short time. I mastered the DMR after 5000 kills, does that make it overpowered or just my weapon of choice?

If it wasn’t overpowered, then why on earth did they just nerf it?

Your stats don’t prove whether a weapon is overpowered or not.

1262 Kills?

Look out, here comes someone with lots of experience coming to offer their opinion.

Boltshot = overpowered, for reasons far beyond “I do or don’t get killed by it”.
