This isnt Halo 2 lockout where there was 1 shotgun or 1 sword that spawned every 2 or 3 min.
This isnt Halo 3 guardian where there was 1 shotgun and 1 hammer.
No this is Halo 4 where about 3 times a match you have the chance to bring down a shotgun, SAW, Sword, Scatter shot, or hammer. So potentially there could be 24 of these weapons during a match. Using adrift as an EX we then add the scatter and sword coming back every 3 minutes for a 9 min match, so that is 6 more!
So that is s 30 near instakill CQB power weapons PLUS we have sprint all the time. Now compare that to the 6 CQB power weapons that would be in a 9 min match of H3 guardian slayer and things are looking crazy.
The point is what with ordinance and map weapons being made mostly of CQB instakill weapons, freshly spawned players need a chance to fight back. The boltshot is that chance. Yes it has a better max range than any of those weapons but it is also much more difficult to use compared to those 5. But do you really pass up a shotgun to hold on to your boltshot? I know I don’t. So the boltshot is a necessity to keep the game balanced when we have so manyof these powerweapons in play the entire game.
