This is something that’s confused me. This skull gets rid of your HUD, which is an interesting concept. Not knowing how much ammo you have, being unable to see your shields, grenades, reticle, etc. That’s all cool. I’d love to try playing like that! However, the Blind Skull also removes your arm and weapon. That’s just annoying. I can never bring myself to try to play with this skull because I start the mission not knowing what I’m holding! What do you guys think?
I agree. I always found that weird and annoying.
Don’t know about you, but it’s really not hard to keep track of only two weapons… especially in Halo 5. Whatever character you chose, you should know what 2 weapons that character has. You can always try shooting a weapon to see what you have…
If you want a quick cheat, place a little bit of tape on your screen where the reticule should be so you know where you are shooting

Oldest trick in the book…
I think he is more annoyed by the fact, that with blind skull it removes your arm and weapon from the screen. Now that I think about it, it does seem odd because they are not apart of a Spartan’s HUD per say. I think it would be cool to turn off the HUD without losing the weapon and arm for a “realistic” feel to campaign.
Ya, I wish it also wouldn’t do this. I’d love to see at least the gun and arm because I could show off Halo in a cool way! Also wish the blind skull was in Halo CEA so I could take awesome screenshots!
I personally prefer the Blind Skull to be perfectly clean, because I use it for taking screenshots. I hope 343 introduces the campaign theater mode back or even a photo mode.

Yeah. I miss campaign theater mode. It’s excellent for isolating special occurrences. But the DVR is good, too. Unless you want a different point of view on something.
343’s explanation is probably that since the War Game simulations are canon, there are also cameras set up to monitor the simulations. But there’s nothing like that in the campaign, so no Theater .

Doens’t look like a good explanation, maybe it was a technical issue they removed the theather mode, but I hope they bring it back in Halo 6 or do a photo mode like Forza, where you have full control of the camera, the scene and can add visual effects to a more dramatical screenshot.

The skull isn’t meant to add realism. It’s meant to add challenge. Not seeing what weapon you have out is a part of that challenge.
