The biggest threat to the Halo universe

You play the game. You earn the REQ points. You buy the packs. You sell the unnecessary items.

But…who are you selling them to? Are we selling munitions to insurrectionists? Even if we do screen our clients, how can we be sure they aren’t connected to the insurrection and are just funneling all our unwanted hardware to them?

Back at the start of the REQ system, we all mostly sold needlers and unarmed mongooses. But now that everyone is further ahead in the REQ system, we’re finding ourselves selling bigger and stronger tools and guns. Are we sure we know where they are going? If we haven’t been careful, we might find out we’ve been arming our enemies!

Back when we were struggling to make a Silver pack, things might have been nipped in the bud without too much incident; maybe a few containers of shotguns and a couple crates of Covenant Carbines went into rebel hands, but not much else. But now we’ve spiralled out of control, and are selling entire production runs of Scorpion tanks. I’ve even seen someone hand off a pallet of experimental weapons like Blissful Slumbers, and Rivers of Light…all for a meager income of REQ points.

We need to make a concerted effort to screen who we deal with in the future. We must mindful of the consequences.

EDIT: If we could get some statistics from a 343 employee about the percentage of REQ munitions that aren’t being tracked after being sold, and how many Rare or higher REQs are sold daily, that would really help open some eyes.

C’mon, need some input here.

Somebody, somewhere, has an army of mongooses (mongeese?) and Scout Hogs ready to unleash hell upon the UNSC.

I might have sold a few blaze of glory’s at one point…

I’m wondering what they with tons of Gambit:assists.

You’re only a part of the problem.

Your post made me laugh too.

I’m just glad I haven’t sold any mythic reqs.

From the shadows, Bungie are buying back their superior franchise, piece by piece.

Once I unlocked everything I stopped selling altogether. I’m not helping no damn Insurrectionists

Good man. If we work together, we can hopefully cut off the insurrection entirely from the REQ system.

“Tankmaster Rok is in 400’000 wraiths on the beach!”

Maybe the mongooses are used to help pull trailers full of food and water to starving children. The weapons are recycled down into materials to help build hospitals. These functions are providing jobs for needy spartans.

Warzone is a simulation. So is the equipment you use in it. Nobody hoards all those “weapons” because they don’t exist, they’re just data in the Infinity’s computer.

Humor done right. I stopped selling weapons and power ups when I unlocked everything. I’ve been thinking about having a mongoose selling day though.

If we wanna help people out on the planets that need infrastructure, we should be sending building materials directly to the people that need it. Let’s say that even if insurrectionists hold up the responsible organizations and demand their newly-gotten resources, they still have to make the weapons. That requires further capital like factories and engineers and robust distribution lines. Also, it’ll prevent them from having Covenant and Forerunner weapons, considering they won’t have the know-how to create them. It’s a much better result compared to spoon-feeding them a bunch of state-of-the-art weapons that are already made and ready to go.

Now I feel bad. I used to sell everything so I could unlock the works, but now I am building my arsenal!!

We know that…

This.

You’re not “selling” your REQs in the traditional sense. You’re just giving them back to the computer system.

That’s what they want you to think…
