The Biggest Benefit of Halo Infinite Being F2P is That it costs Nothing to Play the Game

I’ve been playing Halo for a long time. And I love the multiplayer. But I was never able to regularly play online, because I couldn’t afford Xbox Live. I only got to play occasionally at friends’ houses or when people came over for local multiplayer.

I didn’t get Xbox Live until Halo 4, and I loved it. But I also had to pay extra to get maps as they came out. Then, I was disappointed to find that the DLC maps rarely rotated into matchmaking because very few people bought them.

At some point, I gave up again on paying for multiplayer and the associated DLC content because it wasn’t worth my time and money.

Halo Infinite has changed that. All gameplay content is free to access, including future updates, maps, weapons, etc. AND it’s available on PC, which my friends and I have recently switched to as our main gaming platform.

I couldn’t be happier that the Halo multiplayer is easier than ever to get into. I completely understand why some people are upset about the progression and cosmetic systems, and I agree that improvements can and should be made, but I never want to go back to having to dump so much money into just being able to play a few pickup games on the base game maps online.
