i was watching the stage demo and relized cortana says “we know where he’s heading” (about the orange ball of doom) she said it as they already “met” it, and that mission takes place 1/3rd into the campaign so do you think we will see the orange death ball sooner?

The Covenant come to Requiem because they believe that one of their ‘gods’ in interned there. John and Cortana probably first encounter the Cryptum that way- trying to stop the Covenant from achieving their objective.
Good point. if that were the first time they saw it a response more along the lines “what was that?” or “Well that was unexpected.” would seem to work better.

I have yet to read the Cryptum book(s), but I assumed it contained either the Didact or the Didact’s consciousness. I could be way off though.

It was in one of the articles done on Halo 4 late 2011/early 2012. It may have been Gameinformer, or someone else, but it was in a publication on the campaign preview.
It’s possible, but Chief looked pretty surprised to see it.

Look at the picture of chief. I believe that’s where he first meets this “orange death ball” lol

I don’t remember it, but I’ll take your word for it.
Well I think it is safe to say that you encounter it when you first land on Reqium.
If it is in fact the Didact’s Cryptum, and he did in fact pull everything into the shield world I think it is safe to assume that he would want to come meet those aboard the ships he had pulled in.

At late 2011/early 2012 we had little to no information on Campaign. I don’t think that article is a source you should trust. It could be, but as much as it could, it doesn’t have to be.

This was back when the first information on the first level came out. And even then, it was more of a throw away comment- one line by a developer (I can’t remember who it was, but I’m pretty sure it wasn’t Frank) that sadly wasn’t expanded on.
It might have been in the side section of the Gameinformer preview, but it could have been some other publication- it’s been a while since I looked at those scans.
When we speak of the Didact we mean Bornstellar, right?
I think it looks sick and cant wait to fight or run from it.
