The betrayal system is Borked

I’ve been getting betrayed all night (BTB, go figure) with no option to boot. In the last two games, the same guy betrayed me 5 times in the first game and five times in the second. I was then finally given the option to boot.

On the other hand, if I accidentally betray someone (it doesn’t happen often) I get booted immediately, one strike.

BORKED!

It may be because you already betrayed twice that day, or because you have more strikes against your name. But this is really wierd that he you had to wait that long for the option, lag perhaps?

really, you counted 10 betrayals before you could kick him? im calling shenanigans.

It’s because the betrayal system is rigged to allow OG 667 to be betrayed 10 times without reprecussion and have him immediately booted after his first. Duh.

I dunno what to tell you, really. In my experience, it often seems like Reach allows one accidental betrayal and give you the option to boot if that same person betrays again. Sometimes that doesn’t work. Wonky system is wonky.

I doubt you were betrayed 5 times in a row in BTB without having the option to boot, however.

It’s happened to me too. I’ve had several games where I get betrayed 10+ times and get no option to boot. Yet when I try to get my revenge, I’m booted instantly.

Now its probably only happened like 4 times but it’s still annoying nonetheless.

@CuRRRR - if I find the time, I’ll upload some clips of one of the games.

In some games, I do get the option quickly enough but five times from one person?

Just for example:

def betrayal(player, betrayer):
> if betrayer.betrayals > 2:
>> player.showBootScreen(betrayer)

def onDeath(player):

> killer = player.death.assassin
> if player.team == killer.team:
>> killer.betrayals += 1
>> betrayal(player, killer)

The betrayal system works like this

The more times YOU have betrayed, the less chance you get to kick
The less times YOU have betrayed, the more chance you get to kick

Solution, don’t betray people.

False.

I hardly ever betray others and basically never under any circumstance get the option to boot. On occasion when I kill the guy who betrayed me for the sniper or whatever, I usually immediately get booted out. Its weird too, I always go positive in k/d, usually double digit, and I still never get the option, whereas a dooshbag betrayer who typically goes -5 on their best day always seems to get the option.

I’ve had the same experience as Carl.

I’ve uploaded the videos to my file share. There were six betrayals in the first game (KTK1a-KTK1f) and five in the second (KTK2a-KTK2e) before I had a chance to boot him. I didn’t betray anyone in those games and very few if any in the previous games. In one previous game, I did “betray” one person by hiding behind their tank when somebody else blew it up. I didn’t fire a shot or melee but it counted as a betrayal and I got booted.

I also had a BTB game with at least 9 people in a party where they full-party boosted / spawned killed the crap out of everyone. The person on our team kept delivering them our wraiths and revenants and driving Miss Daisy and her warthog turret into our base (if we blew up the hog, it counted as a betrayal and those people got booted). And we can’t even post the gamertags of these people on the board :-/.
