The beta changes show what Halo fans have become

They tried their best to accomodate both sides. They offered explanations for their actions, and included reasonings and tweaks to lessen those decisions that many in the forums would consider be removed from the game (sprint). And yet we still complain and groan about it… Give the game a chance. Rent it, borrow it, by all means dont buy it, But lets just see how the final product turns out.

Ya no surprise, you can never satisfy everyone when we all have free will and think differently, the nature of humans.

I see the Halo Community like a coin. One face are those who started with the original trilogy and the other face are those who started after that triology. 343i has already shown, in this blog post that there is a feature to toggle the SA/Sprint features off. An outstandingly smart move. This is the first step to catering to both sides of the coin. Now all they have to do is provide playlists for both sides. Some people say it’ll segregate the community. I think giving people options and the ability to make choices is more important than “segregation” worries.

Some people say maps will still be effected, which has some validity to it. I’m sure the Halo Forging community is absolutely capable of crafting some forge maps that support the “old school” playstyle.

Saying that “sprint should be removed” ends up hurting one side of that coin. Having sprint be the only option hurts the other side. However, 343i has created an environment for each side to exist contently. And sure, no game can provide an experience that meets a consumers ideal vision of what the game should be. Compromising on both sides, the developer and the consumer should be taken into account. This is the developers game after all…they should have a say in the matter. People shouldn’t be worried about other features in the game as long as they are getting what they want.

Great metaphor. I’m just wondering who it is who lives on the edge of the coin…

Give all the complainers time to read the blog post, they’ll start quieting down, I guarantee it. Even THIS toxic community will be hard-pressed to complain about 343 on the H5G side of things at least until E3.

They’ll stop complaining when they’ve left. The reason why they complain is because they still hold onto the hope that Halo 5 can be salvaged.

I give Halo 5’s multiplayer less than Halo 4’s 3 months before its online population begins to plummet. I’ve already heard from the competitive scene that they’re not too convinced of Halo 5’s anticipated success.

That’s the problem right there unfortunately. You see the population and sample only on 2 sides (along with many others here) when no conflict in the history of mankind is just 2 sides, we’re more complicated then that. I started playing CE back in 01, and I don’t mind sprint, hated it at first but adapted and learned to like it now. Just saying conflicts and arguments are never that simple.

But ya forge community should be able to do just fine. We’ll see how it goes as the year progresses.

Wow you’re just getting bitter and more desperate by the minute bud. Cheer up and have a chill pill or something.

Bitter, but for a reason.

Halo was pretty much my go-to game for a rich story and competitive multiplayer. I think I’ll have a bash at playing Team Fortress 2 competitively (vanilla, that is).

Too true. I didn’t mean to generalize by saying that there are people on the “original trilogy” side that all hate sprint. I started with Halo 2 and I haven’t a problem with sprint as it is implemented in Halo 5 (Halo 4 seemed…a bit much). But yea, I do see your point.

Fuss, whine, groan, complain, grouse, etc. All things this thread is currently doing.

If every dissenting opinion is considered ‘complaining’ though, that only invalidates what they say, and that’s called intolerance; which I feel is worse. I think I speak for everyone here, when I say that all of us genuinely want Halo 5 to be perfect. Logic should dictate that we are all trying to accomplish that. We just express it in different ways.

Nonetheless, there is enough people satisfied with Josh Holmes’ post in a nearby thread that you can mingle with, and avoid further beating this very, very dead horse.

You act as if literally no one enjoyed it, despite the statistics of just how much time was spent on the beta alone. And please don’t kid yourself, you just want it so that anyone wanting new gameplay elements will be pushed aside so you can have your carbon copy halo 2.

Truthful foresight is almost always “bitter”. And the truth is far more important than optimism.

Man, Gary and Honk-Honk are right about humans.

Assuming, once again, that we want a clone of Halo 2. Or Halo 3. Keep up with them strawman arguments though!

Well when you sat remove everything to make it feel like halo 2, it sounds a lot like you want it so anyone wanting new stuff gets left out.

I never said to remove everything to make it feel like Halo 2. Stop putting words in my mouth and quit straw manning.

Really people are still saying that. You are now irrelevant. Ino
