The best req system

It will work the exact same way as Halo Reach. You press the start button (or menu in xbox one) and select the REQ menu. In it you can chose armor, loadouts, power weapons, vehicles, etc. You use RP (req points) to buy the stuf you want. As for the power weapons/vehicles and Warzone, you buy one card and that’s all you need and in Warzone it will still work the exact same way, by increasing your req energy.

Also, NO MICROTRANSACTIONS!!!

NO Requisition Point System!!!

What are you talking about? The method that I’m bringing completely removes the bs RNG system and makes it similar to the Armory in Halo Reach only with the name REQ

I also didn’t like the credit system in Reach. Playing for grind is not I want.

Well I don’t like unlocking stuff through achievements that are -Yoinking!- hard to get (looking at you recon)

I don’t think the REQ System as it currently is that bad. Like the rest of Halo 5, its a good foundation for future stuff; just needs improved and refined.

For Halo 6 (Or even 5, if they fancy it) they should look to expand it and add a few things:

  • More feat/achievement based unlocks. Basically more armour/skins for completing commendations and getting achievements - Have a “Direct Buy” section that features a random/rotating stock of Armour and Reqs. You could refresh the armour weekly and the weapons daily or something. - Maybe tie Certifications into the progression system. Every time you level up you could give players the choice of an armour piece or weapon/vehicle cert. - Give players ways of more consistently selecting their reward type. (i.e, Weapon Pack, Vehicle Pack, Armour Pack) - Other ideas that may or may not help:

  • Bring in a more mainstream loadout system into Warzone; Just let us customise our loadout weapons like other shooters do (Not in Arena, obviously). Having twenty variants of the Assault Rifle just bogs down everything. Just let us pick something like a Primary (AR, BR, DMR, SMG), Secondary (Magnum), Grenade type and Armour mod, all available at the match start. It kills the pacing it you’re trawling through the loadout menu every time you go up a REQ Level and want a slightly better BR. - Reduce “boring” cards like weapon variants, introduce different kinds of cards that may be more desirable. Idea: Hack Cards, which modify your experience for that life. I.e, maybe you get regenerating grenades, or bottomless chip. Burn Cards from Titanfall, basically. Or Ordinance Cards, which could be employable like turrets or scanners that highlight nearby enemies. Basically give us cards that are more interesting and likely to be used instead of just sold.

There’s nothing wrong with the microtransactions…that is, until the month of mythic hit. Besides that, they’re fine. The req system just needs less RNG.

If you want to know how the req system is gonna look in Halo 6 look at Gears of War 4.

Actually some good ideas for improving the REQ system. A rotating market for buying Visual/Weapon REQs is a really good idea. Certifications could be tied in, but only the basic/slightly advanced variants, and the more powerful variants (Helios, Ultra, ONI, etc.) remain in the REQ system. Different types of packs could be balanced out with the normal Gold/Silver/Bronze by costing more.

Warzone Loadouts really need to improve. Especially the fact that the new sights for weapons (Hybrid, and now COG) don’t even have attachments (And I really like Hybrid). Hack Cards could be implemented, but need to have more incentive to use, which burn cards really lacked, as they had no purpose unless you needed a crutch.

The best req system is no req system

Name one game that has actually been praised for having microtransactions.
No sane person in this planet would want to spend more money than what they already have for a game they just bought.
( pardon my curt nature but this love for MTs must end, atleast keep them away from halo )

I agree with you on most of this, but Halo 5 could benefit from a less complicated, though still large, fix.
Your idea for traditional Loadouts in Warzone (perhaps even different sets that can be manipulated to become available at different REQ levels) is good, and that would help a lot. Though, the req system would benefit if it had a direct-buy system that functioned as follows:

  • Req packs now only contain customization items, and are far cheaper, or use their own currency.

  • You can purchase the base variant of any weapon or vehicle for REQ points. Point values depend on rarity.
    Common - 1000
    Uncommon - 2500
    Rare - 5000
    Ultra-Rare - 7500
    Legendary - 10000
    Mythic - Rarity + 20%

  • Only after buying the base variant can you buy the next variant. For example, if you wanted the Prophet’s Bane cert, you would have to buy the base Energy Sword, then the Ravening Sliver can be bought. Then, the Vorpal Talon. Then, finally, the Prophet’s Bane.

  • Consumables can be bought for a quarter of the price of the cert. This allows for specific allocation of consumables. All of this is just a suggested addition to Halo 5’s current consumable REQ system. This isn’t a system that I’d want, necessarily, for a future installment, but it’d make this system better. You got the ideal system for H6 nailed, Darkslayer18264.

The best req system is the one that doesn’t exist. Get it out of our games 343i and focus more on telling a good story, releasing things that should be there day one, fixing theater, changing your horrible art style, and actually making a decent Halo game for once!

No microtransactions are praised, but that doesn’t mean all are evil. The month of mythic is evil, but the other halo 5 microtransactions are not IMO. Remember that the req system is not microtransactions. They aren’t the same thing. Many hate them just because of the RNG of the req system.

How about just balancing the weapons and placing them on the map for people to pick up?
