When Halo Infinite does become available for preorder where would be the best way to Infinite? At our local GameStop? Walmart? Target? Amazon? Xbox Game Pass? Will all these places retail the game at the exact same price? Or will Halo Infinite’s price vary depending on the game’s potential editions?
Is the best way to buy now digital or still disc? Thoughts?
Anywhere’s fine, but if you have it in your weekly/monthly budget, and you truly like the look of the it, (Once we get more information.) it would be best if you pre-ordered it instead of using game pass, because if the rumours about the budget are true, this game needs all the help it can get. Personally, I’ve already got game pass for 2 years or so, (Yeah, I spent a lot of money at once. I rarely buy games…) but I’m getting the disc edition, or the console, if that happens, because I just like owning games I REALLY want.
personally I’ll pre order it on Xbox Live Store so I can play it at midnight.
It’ll be on game pass so you can play it for a lot cheaper. They haven’t announced a date for the game so we don’t know about any special pre order bonuses that retailers might have
I am buying it digital. I’m also considering ordering my Xbox Series X so it’s delivered. In the event of another outbreak and quarantine in the fall I want to be ready. Buying Infinite Digitally, I’ll be able to play on my One On launch day even if my series X hasn’t arrived.
I’ll be grabbing it on Steam, unless there is some sort of collectible that is released, but I’m hoping the PC version will have a Steam code available to come with it.
I am planning to get Halo Infinite on Steam. I am hoping that the new Halo video game will have a deluxe edition on Steam.
Trying not to be dramatic, but truth be told, with 343s track record nobody should be preordering this game. I don’t know how you can have confidence in these guys.
Best place to buy this? Whichever place has easy/convenient return policy. That way if the game is broken (MCC style) or the marketing for the game is misleading and/or the game is missing ton of core features (Halo 5 style) you can save yourself from a lot of grief and return it with ease.
I love physical copies personally, but fully digital is the better choice in this day and age. You have to install the game anyway, it works on multiple platforms and it will forever be bound to your account - so as long the company exists your games are safe.
I’ll decide based on how much better the MS store is going to be and if I can play with Steam users. So it’s a fight between MS Store and Steam for me.
Edit:I just realised… If you’re talking about where to preorder just don’t. Why would you? It’s not like the game will run out. Not to mention, 343i doesn’t has the best track record so far and we haven’t seen anything about Hi yet.
I’ve owned every Halo physical copy, and plan to do the same with Infinite. It will be available on GamePass if you dont want to spend the money and want to try it out first.
But I recommend if your a true Halo fan, and like to collect the discs, pre order the legendary edition.

Pre-order it from the place you get the best deal.
I have to echo ADE MacBamboo01’s thoughts in a post above. Why pre-order after three let downs from 343i?

Oh, so I’m not a true fan if I don’t own the legendary edition? Why would I pre-order anything after three let downs? Also, How about the fans that buy the version they can afford? Guess they’re not true fans either.
Edit. Sorry mods, I messed up the quotes.
Really is up to you and your preference along with location convience. There’s really no “best place” or “best way” to buy video games since most retailers try to keep the prices the same, some with varying deals depending on multiple circumstances. I usually try to get my video games either from Amazon or Best Buy. GameStop is a last resort for me (despite being a former employee for them).
As for the different retail store prices and editions we don’t know anything yet.
As for physical or digital that’s just preference. I generally like to buy physical but Infinite has a MP component that I’m pretty sure I’m gonna be playing for a long time with my brother whose on a different xbox so I’ll be buying it digital so we can both play on both xbox’s together with one copy. Would be really cool if they just gave you a digital copy if you buy the physical.
There is no information available on the retail releases yet. It will all depend on the price and what you get for it. Another thing to consider is what retailers will caryy what editions of the game. Sometimes different stores offer special bonuses.

I prefer disc for buying Infinite, also I like to shop the various pre-order sites to see who has the best pre-order bonuses.

You have a great last point. lol. Last year I went to Best buy and almost 75% of one half of the $20.00 bargain bin was Halo 5. Needless to say Halo 5 was not received well (at least in my area). On a serious note, I am willing to give 343 another chance. The reason: I think they are well aware of the stakes in getting this Halo right. However, for me personally I just love Halo. Whenever this franchise comes out with a new title I just like owning it. Plus, I want to see finality with Master Chief’s story. I would like to see Chief find his peace, and see his story come to close on a good note.

Its the same platform, of course you play together. MCC does it, and literally every PC game that has different clients do it as well. Both MS Store and Steam have their pluses and minuses. It’s just a matter of what’s better and or easier for you.

Tell that to og HW and HW2. I believe it when I see it!
Probably digital so I can play it instantly, but if there are some benefits to preordering a physical copy then I’ll definitely do that.
This will be the first title I get to play on day 1 so there is no timeline where I am waiting for the general reception before diving in. All of the other titles were released when I was in grade school through Master’s degree. It has been quite the ride.
