I have 14 platinum packs up for grabs and I want to give them to the best of the best so to speak. Spread between waypoint and the discord what you can do is nominate someone <mark>(not yourself, not your sock, not your mate)</mark> that you feel is a good influence on the community (through contributions here and on the discord) and give a bit about why. At some point those nominated will be vetted and the packs will be divided among the best of those candidates provided. I may give out 14 packs to 14 different individuals or I may give out 5 packs to one person. It all depends on what they’ve contributed and how I view it in the end. I’m going to put a tentative date of the giveaway to be 9 December (343 day). I may close this thread sooner depending on the number of entries.

Give us the best examples of wp and the discord. Give us the best examples of what this community could and should be.

CIA391, for sure. Man is the backbone of the lore community alongside the YouTube channels, but they mostly get their data (and confimation) from him and Halopedia so…

I would like to nominate QX for all their assistance in the matchmaking forums, helping others to better understand Halo 5’s ranking system and TrueSkill 2 implementation

I’d like to nominate MasterCh1ef87. It’s fairly active and informative here on the Halo Waypoint forums and he has a big presence within the Master Chief Collection by hosting game nights several times a week and bringing players together to play Halo CE and Halo 2. He’s fun to play games with and just a great person to spend time with on Xbox Live.

Personally I’d be happy to give him all the packs as you’d be hard pressed to find someone more deserving. That being said, he’s expressed that he’d prefer not to receive one to leave more for the community at large.

stckrboy is an amazing admin and a great person to know. It goes to show you how amazing he really is when he says he’d rather see the packs go to the community.

I’d like to nominate Timmy the k1d for making helpful topics such as this one and this one, which are geared towards members of the Halo community who use these Waypoint forums but don’t use Twitter/Reddit or any of that other dumb stuff. It helps bridge the gap between Waypointers who don’t look at Twitter and 343 employees who don’t look at Waypoint, which I think is important.

I was also going to recommend Timmy the k1d as well as Plastic Hassle . Plastic’s update info is always very helpful, and Timmy submitting screenshots for people to help them get noticed is an extremely nice thing to do. Both of them go out of there way to help people, which is something you don’t see much anymore. I was also going to include AshamanND, but he’s now my clan leader, so I guess that breaks the sock rules lol.

I’m humbled, and if picked I would happily donate my pack along to those who are still working on their Req collection.

I finished mine, and while it would be nice to have some boosts - it would be better for someone to unlock some Reqs.

So many great people, it’s hard to know where to start.
I imagine most of those I am going to list already completed their Req collection, so if they are chosen may I ask that they are contacted first to see if they would like their winnings given to someone else deserving?

I notice that Plastic Hassle often posts information and links that are of interest to the community.

McFlucknuckles seems to always contribute to interesting topics of conversation and direct newer forums users to where to find information.
Killer Orca, I could say the same about you that you said about CIA391! I notice your posts in the general lore discussions often, and similar to others I’ve mentioned here, quick to point new users in the right direction for info.

TheLegendary117 takes special care (IMO) to really help new users, constantly giving our tips and tricks, directing them to info sources, and fostering a positive environment. He was a special help to me in my Fireteam Raven struggles.

Omarlotrc is also very engaging with the community, and helps promote a positive environment.

LUKEPOWA offers insightful critical analysis of important issues in the games. I’d like to think that people like this are essential to the game development - they aren’t negative, but they aren’t all-praising, and this helps foster development and growth.
KittenPuncher8 also offers similar important constructive criticism.

Stckrboy, Snickerdoodle, Chimera30 and the man himself Comedic Hermit are all mods that I have had some level of personal interaction with that I find to be exceptional community representatives, and tirelessly work to promote and engage the community at large. While I’m sure you’re not really eligible for this giveaway as mods, I couldn’t write a ‘recognition’ post without including you.

I would also like to second the vote for MasterCh1ef87 for reasons mentioned above.

I know there are other individuals (and mods) that I’ve seen be a great influence and helpful, but they aren’t coming to mind at the moment (Sorry!) I’ll happily edit this post later when they do.

Raptor Man Zero is another individual that I find to be very engaging, especially in-game. One of those people with integrity, who will always support his team, and never back down from a fight, no matter how lopsided the teams might become.

Also, I think we all know about the collection. If anyone needs to know about some Halo collectable I’m sure Master Ch… TheLegendary117 knows about it. He’s a great addition to this community along with everyone else. He really is a true Spartan!

Other than that I’d choose stckrboy.

…jokes aside, I vote for him because I see first hand how hard he works to help others in the community. I not only am able see his passion and love for Halo, but I’m lucky enough to get to share that with him. I know how large our collection is, heck, Halo is what brought us together 6 years ago! To say he’s Legendary is putting it lightly in my opinion. I’m not saying he’s better than anyone else, because in my opinion anyone who is kind to others is a winner. I will however say I know him personally and I know he always has the best of intentions when it comes to communicating and helping out with other fans, collectors, and enthusiasts if you will.
He will always be MY Chief and he never makes a promise if he knows he can’t keep it.

If it’s ok to sneak another name in, AshamanND has put up some really useful posts and threads over the last few months - some great help for those looking to play Fireteam Raven.
