Okay, everybody clicked on this thread hoping to read some ideas that will boost their excitement for Halo 5, so that is what I will present to you. If you like any of the ideas, like the thread and comment to bump it up and give it some recognition.
D-Pad Spartan Weapon Swapping
Make use of another D-Pad button which will enable us to swap weapons with other Spartans.
Example: My teammate picks up a Sniper Rifle but he is some absolute trash at using it properly. My teammate then tells me to switch weapons with him because he thinks he could do better with my DMR. We both walk up to each other with the weapon we want to switch and then we both proceed to hold the up D-Pad button down at the same time, which will allow us to swap our weapons. If you already have the weapon that your teammate is swapping with you, then you will just get more ammo for it. Or you can use the right D-Pad button to just throw the weapon down on the ground if you don’t have enough time to make a direct swap. the throw feature will be good if lets say you know you have a power weapon and the enemy is about to kill you so right before you die you throw the power weapon off a cliff so they can’t get it (very tactical move to make). This will also decrease the amount of betrayals for power weapon rights and what not.
MVP Recognition
After each match you play is over, the Spartan with the best performance will pop up on everybody’s screen and they will be labeled as the MVP of the match. So instead of the corny “Victory” animations, only the MVP will have an animation of him just standing there looking bad-asss.
Example: You had a good match and was the best all around player in that match. After the match ends, your Spartan and Gamertag will show on everybody’s screen right after the announcer says, “Game Over” and it will write in bolded leaders, “MVP.” If that was lets say your 5th time winning MVP in that gametype, a number going from 4 to 5 will also show for everyone to see. People can also check how much 'MVP" awards you have accumulated over time but clicking on your gamertag. It is likely to resemble your skill in a specific gametype. Only really good players would have a lot of MVP awards and vice versa.
Clan System
Once you get to a specific rank and have the required amount of SP, you should be able to start an in-game clan which is recognized by the game and other players. Clans have a specific Clan Rank and the leader can assign positions and levels of authority to their clan members. There would be a clan lobby for clan matches specifically and a toggle in the Custom Game lobby that will divide everyone according to their clan. There will be clan tournaments and clan emblems and you have to be in a clan for 3 days top before you can quit the clan. Players are allowed one clan at a time only. If you have a habit of quitting clans, then other players can check upon that in your clan history and decide if they want you in their clan or not. The people that have authority can decide which players can start up a clan matchmaking, then you can avoid new clan members starting up the clan matchmaking and messing up the clans reputation, status and rank. Your clan will be visible near gamertag.
Matchmaking Weather Varieties
For matchmaking maps, Halo 5 should give different varieties of the map during the “voting stage” where you can play the same map either in rain, snow, fog or, just regular weather. This would affect gameplay just a tiny bit to add a fun twist factor for example, snow can affect grenade bouncing because the grenades can get caught in the snow, rain can affect sprint and the traction and control your Spartan has while sprinting, and fog can affect your sight because things would be a tiny bit harder to see in the fog.
These neat features would add a new layer of skill level and tactic to Halo. For example, if you were to play a player like Ninja that has excellent grenade placement, it would be smart to try to choose the snow version of a map if its available because it would make it harder for Ninja to perfectly place his grenades because the grenades don’t really bounce in snow.
People usually ask for different weather in forge but they only want that for aesthetics and not really gameplay value so they is what I suggest. What do you guys think?
Tattoos
Lol not tattoos. I mean being able to put your emblems on your Spartans armor.
Example: We would be able to put our custom emblem on our Spartans chest (left or right), arms or back… maybe even the legs. If you don’t want to do that then you can just leave it blank.
Capes and Scarves
In the Halo 5 trailer, Chief is wearing a big -Yoink- robe with a hoodie lol. I think we should be able to put scarves and capes on our Spartans. In Halo Reach, one of the Spartan chest pieces included a dark green scarf for your Spartan. I think it should come back but as an accessory item. Capes should be included in this group too. The only thing is that you have to be a good player to get to wear around scarves and capes. If someone has one then you know they are good. I know this idea is a stretch but I’d be happy if it was included somehow. There would be different varieties and for some, you would need to unlock and all that good stuff.
Halo 3 allowed players to put a katana on their Spartans back so It’s kind of like the same thing with this. It’s fun and only brings more favor to the game. And it looks cool and everyone likes bragging rights. This will also make people want to grind more because it will motivate players when they see another player with something they don’t have.
Wear and Tear
As you play, you armor will start to get scratch marks on them and bullet holes and stuff. If a grenade blows up near you, it would cause that part of your armor to look kind of burnt with a black stain of some kind (explosion mark). It would reset after the match. You can even keep a permanent scratched up look if you always want to look badass like the Halo Reach armor or just look battle worn in general. All you had to do was toggle it on the settings then you could decide to look sleek or scratched up.
Using Fist
If for some reason you don’t have a weapon, you should be able to use your fist for a last resort. You will be able to toggle this feature in custom games.
