The Beauty In Halo's Simplicity

This day and age the fps genre is more about imitation rather than innovation. We see basically every major series now incorporating this new enhanced mobility craze and Halo is a part of that as well.

It’s not that Halo 5’s mechanics are necessarily bad, it’s just the ones that came before were already good.

Every shooter including Halo offers enhanced mobility but now there is a void in the market for consumers who want an experience like traditional Halo.

Halo’s simple gameplay gave it depth, and allowed the player to get creative. It was unique in that’s is basic simple gameplay allowed it to have countless variations and modes such as swat and griffball were born out of its flexibility.

I’m not trying to say don’t buy Halo 5. And I’m not trying to say that one style is better than the other.

All I’m trying to say is that people still want what Halo used to be, but if Halo doesn’t provide that anymore, then what will?

It seems unfair to say go play an old game because we want new maps, gametypes, and weapons just as much as everyone else.

Hopefully it’s something to think about for people on both sides of the spectrum, and hopefully it’s worth discussing.
