For the sake of giving the Covenant an actual sniper rifle, the beam rifle has to return. Who’s with me?

I voted no. The beam rifle just seemed too redundant, too unoriginal. It played exactly like the UNSC’s sniper rifle, but with a cooldown instead of a magazine. If it returns, I’d like to see it have little to no recoil, take more successive shots (3) to start a cooldown, and be weaker (2 headshots to kill or 3 body shots) to actually make the Beam Rifle its own weapon, instead of a UNSC sniper wannabe.
Yes, but I don’t see a point really. It’s the exact same as the UNSC sniper rifle - One shot to the head, two shots to the body.
I’d still love it to return. 
Perhaps we need a Promethean sniper rifle, to make it more unique, the player explodes (Just like the Scattershot) when he’-Yoink!- with a headshot. That’d be awesome from a distance!

Good point, but it just seems fair for the Covenant to have a real sniper rifle.

If the Covenant have a sniper rifle in Halo 4, it will be the beam rifle or a better version because Halo 4 happens after Halo 3 and that features a beam rifle. They could change it up a bit to make it more unique.
I think we already have 2 snipers the ugly as sin one and, the alien one in, the campaign demo forget the name .
I’d love to see the Beam Rifle again. It was a lot of fun, and looked pretty badass.

I don’t see an ugly sniper. I see a badass-looking human one, and the Lightrifle that’s probably just an alien BR/DMR.

From a sandbox perspective, no its the same as a normal sniper only the reload system is different.

And I’d like a real covenant sniper, but you can pull off two shots consecutively way too quickly with the Beam Rifle.

I like the Beam Rifle, but it’s exactly the same as the Sniper Rifle; it’s just a wasteful weapon. If there is room for it, then sure.
