As I’ve been playing BTB in MCC, I’ve noticed that the banshee really isn’t as fun to fly as it could/should be. Especially in Halo 4. I mean a super advanced coalition of alien species can’t come up with an air combat vehicle that can do more than a few simple twirls, and can’t even hover? The maneuvers that you could do in Halo 4 were so atrocious, and you had no control over it. I want to be able to do some awesome maneuvers with the banshee in Halo 5. And for the love of god, we need a human counterpart this time. Think more hornet from H3 than falcon from Reach
we need a banshee that is functionally identical to the one from reach. We also need UNSC aircraft with the same flight control model as the halo reach falcon.

The Reach Banshee was way too strong and overpowered. If you had that on Boneyard you were almost untouchable because you could just fly away in cover and come back and destroy people.
It’s fine the way it is now. A threat to players on the ground but not too much of a threat.

I’m not necessarily saying it needs to be more powerful, it just needs to fly more fluidly and maneuvers should be much smoother and useful than the clunky af Halo 4 version.

No it’s not, the halo 4 banshee is severely underpowered.

I think all vehicles were underpowered in halo 4.
Shloota, I believe almost everything you mentioned is an effort to balance the banshee. If it was hyper maneuverable, it would be more difficult to defeat. I think the maneuverability was fine in H4, it just needed more damage resistance or health. Small arms fire shouldn’t slaughter the banshee so quickly.
And, of course, I have to agree with the human counterpart! I’ve enjoyed both the hornet and the falcon, though I preferred the falcon for objective purposes.
I would prefer it if they made it slightly tougher and reduced the potency of the banshee bomb in exchange. The Banshee bomb has been ludicrous since reach.

Underpowered unless the pilot spams backflips and the Banshee Bomb, then it becomes one of the most aggravating things in the game.

Yeah, being anywhere remotely near the blast meant instant death.

So it’s only powerful in a stage where it’s movement is uncontrolled in one direction and it’s rate of fire is extremely slow? So in other words severely underpowered.
The best version of the Banshee was ODST’s. It practically hovered when idle, it had strong armor that wasn’t made of cardboard (Reach/4), and a Fuel Rod that was powerful, but had a smaller blast radius that required the pilot to put in a little more effort into aiming instead of obliterating everything in the general area. It’s tricks were smoother, and while they were also slower, it was the right kind of counterbalance for its stronger armor.
If only it were in Multiplayer.
I would like to see a much higher minimum speed on the Banshee to make it behave like like a bomber; doing runs but having to describe a large circle just to follow up the first attack. This would give people who survive the first run a chance to retaliate whilst it is preparing for another attack.

Oh. Then yeah that’s fine with me.

I agree the 4 model had very bad maneuvers

The problem is that the moment itself was horrible, the rolls were mostly useless

The reach banshee was extremely powerful in the hands of a good pilot, as it should be. However, its extremely simple to counter a powerful asset like the reach banshee. Put a spartan laser on the map. That is literally all you need to do. Or a gauss hog or a scorpion, even a few sniper rifles for that matter. I find that the people who complain about the reach banshee are always the ones getting utterly decimated by good pilots, and who never bother getting the banshee themselves or learning how to take it out on each map. Can you imagine how boring halo would be if 343 just nerfed everything into uselessness so that it was impossible for anyone to use any asset to decimate the enemy team? The argument youre making against the banshee could also be said for the rocket launcher in arena, why not make it a 2 shot kill so its more on par with the DMR? BECAUSE NO ONE WOULD USE IT! The banshee should be a powerful asset to be controlled for a strategic advantage in a match, not some useless death trap with no killing potential, like the halo 4 banshee.
I want Vehicles to be resistant to regular weapon fire like they were in Halo 3, and give the humans a jet-fighter counterpart like the Sabre.
people keep mentioning “oh the reach banshee was too powerful”, yeah it was powerful in reach because of its offensive capabilities and flipping didn’t have a long enough downtime. a quick vehicle that has great handling like reach is what vehicles should be striving for never nerf handling. a glass cannon vehicle with great handling is what the banshee should be, just needed less blast radius and flipping than the reach counterpart.

don’t nerf handling. it was strong for many reasons, identify them and mould it into something that is fun. it was untouchable on boneyard because only half of boneyard was used and it was easy to escape to the dead area of the map. it was also easy because very few spawns had cover if you blocked the inside spawns in the middle of the map. halo 4 was not fine it was trash and can be improved.
