While reading the news on halo waypoint about Halo wars 2 I saw this :

Two questions :
Will there be a third halo wars where we will fight against the Banished again ?
Will halo 6 be about forerunners, the Banished or both ?
Also, it seems that there will be “free DLC” after launch, like Halo 5.
343 have all but killed off the original Covenant. The Banished are probably just a way to keep the Covenant races in future games. A Covenant 2.0, if you will.
I wonder if the banished were the Covenant who were trapped on the Ark after the events of Halo 3. I know there is some lore regarding post Halo 3 and the Ark although I am not to familiar with it. As for Halo Wars 3, that will depend on how well this one does.

Yea that might just mean you continue to fight them via Halo Wars 2 DLC and not in other games. Honestly it would be cool to have the Banished replace all the Covenant remnants in future games though you know, mix things up a bit with their new vehicles and weapons.
I don’t know about everyone else but Covenant are starting to get pretty boring to me, The Banished look cool though.
I’ve heard the Banished were banished from the Covenant prior to the Great Schism. Can’t remember where though.
