There’s no need for having multiple different threads about the same topic. They need to be condensed into one singular thread so that the forum is not cluttered with identical discussions.
Also? There’s no need to double post. The quote and edit functions can allow you to address multiple people with one post.

I agree. Let’s make Ur Haruspis’s thread the main thread then. Their articles are pretty amazing and have earned the right to be the foundation of a mega thread imo.
I honestly didn’t expect the Banished to be in Infinite. But I’m very happy to see that I was wrong. They’re an interesting enemy and we FINALLY get to see the Brutes in a mainline Halo game again.
It makes sense that they’d be the only way we really get to fight any remaining Covenant-like faction. Still a shame that Jul 'Mdama got knifed in a cutscene and left to bleed out on the snow instead of getting a deserved final showdown at Sunaion. But I’m still not really a fan of the Banished, given that I really just hate how they were this independent faction that was successfully rebelling against the Covenant at the height of it’s power, and that the Covenant was supposedly fighting a two front war against them and the UNSC.
The Banished are a interesting faction, because scrapper factions are always interesting, but we really need to see more of Atriox instead of having some intolerable and overly-dramatic AI go “FORTY BROTHERS AT A TIME” and then sit there suggesting open mutiny and abandonment of everyone’s duties and somehow not get treated like a Rampant AI like Cortana was in Halo 4. Serina was a far superior AI, and I just really hope that we get something equivalent to Cortana or Serina instead of Isabel or Roland in Infinite.
As far as getting to see the Brutes in a primary Halo game again, so long as they stick to the Banished designs. When I first saw the Brutes in Halo 4’s opening cinematic I was extremely worried because of how awful they looked. They looked so fat and wall-like, like the dumb anime nonsense from Odd One Out. The Brutes are my favorite aliens to fight against so if they can just use Halo 3’s pack AI (refined to modern standards, of course) and utilize the new Halo Wars 2 design (though I’d also be happy with a modern take on Halo Reach’s design aesthetic) then I will be happy.

Too kind! <3
The Banished were one of the top three items on my wishlist for Infinite, but I didn’t expect that it would actually get ticked off!
I think it’s super interesting how we go through these phases with the Apes ‘n’ Gators. In Halo 1-2, the Elites are obviously the main focus of the combat, then 3 and ODST shifted it to the Brutes; Reach had both but focused more on the Elites, with Halos 4 and 5 doubling down on them, and now here we are again, circling back to the Brutes (though I absolutely expect we’ll have them fighting alongside Elites as well, which is its own cool dynamic now that they’re not at each others’ throats in this faction). It’s been interesting to watch the sort of ‘appetite’ of the fanbase jump between them over the years.
How could the Banished be in Halo Infinite if they couldn’t get off the Ark? In the Second Ark Conflict, the UNSC force contingent on the UNSC Spirit of Fire Led by Capt. Cutter, field commanded by Spartan Jerome, Alice and Douglas, fought the Banished led by Atriox and destroyed the Banished Assault Carrier CAS-Enduring Conviction; thus the Banished became as stranded at the UNSC force contingent that came with their ship, how could they leave? The Created also sent the whole galaxy into chaos, so how could the Banished do their thing if the Banished more likely than not fight her. If they did she would use her guardians and Forerunner warriors to whip them into shape. Plus the whole story after the events of Halo 5 and the Created uprising is about beating Cortana and her Created as the Final test by the Precursors to see if Mankind is worthy of the Mantle of Responsibility(the precursor mantle that deals with the protection and stewardship of life and it’s diversity.

It was noted in the books and comics that not all of Atriox’s crew made it to the Ark. The Banished are much larger than what we saw in HW2.

I had heard that the banished were also prowling around the orion belt, what I want to get to is that you are correct Atriox and its crew are not all existing troops

I think that the clip they released last week is actually one of the factions not on the Ark. Mentioning that they are his legacy, they may believe Atriox to be dead seeing as they cannot communicate with the Ark.

Have you guys seen Halo Canon’s new video on youtube about the banished being in Halo Infinite? He stated that Atriox never hated Humanity as a whole, saying in Halo fractures that he wasn’t Tartarus or a fanatic, that he wasn’t Truth, Regret, or Mercy, that he wasn’t the covenant but its “remedy” he also says that “Vengeance is petty”, “vengeance has no reward.” Atriox has no hate for Humanity, he has hate for the UNSC forces contingent aboard the UNSC Spirit of Fire for wrecking his operations on the ark. He also set up Brute chieftains to influence brute colonies and even “Human criminal enterprises”, so whatever’s happening with the Banished, they must be doing it without Atriox’s permission and still have animosity to other species including Mankind. It’s more likely than not that someone in the Banished had taken control of the Banished forces in the galaxy when they thought Atriox was dead; Also this destroys the idea that the Created are going be in Halo Infinite even though fans have been going nuts over this since Halo 5 and the lore we’ve gotten since Halo Infinite was announced.
If Atriox was there instead of the brute we got I might had been more excited. Honestly I feel like I have lost hope, as The banished leader say in the gameplay demo “what are you doing here? We won this war months ago” I mean how the hell with one pilot and Master chief are they supposed to win an already lost war? I wish that the opening demo would had been Master chief and the pilot in the sky along side Sprit of fire and Infinity ship crashing down and everything goes as the demo already went (not gonna go to much detail about all the things I want gone) but master chief need to destroy anti air turrets so their forces can land and the brute leader comes in and he says “what are you doing here? We’ve already taken control of this ring” and etc.
The banished seems awesome but as you might had figured out I can’t even remember the brutes name who we are gonna fight. This is just seems like The covenant all over again and them making it like Halo Ce I have no problem with but when we are fighting the same exact enemy I have a problem since we all done this before.
It’s like they all sat in a room and remembered the quote from halo 2 “It’s not a very orginal plan but we will know it will work” and just went from there.
Sorry for this little rant and if I made you less excited for the new halo game I am truly sorry but this was just my point of view of things.
