The Banished and other original species in H6?

What I really wanna know is will the Banished and other original covenant species be in Halo 6? Like Drones, Engineers & Skirmishers? If so, Halo 6 will be great!!

I think there is a high chance that the Banished will be in Halo 6. What would be the point of introducing a new threat to the UNSC in the previous instalment, then not to elaborate and incorporate them into the next game. The engineers were featured amongst the Banished, so I would have some hope to see them. As for the Drones and Skirmishers, I’m not too sure if they will make an appearance.

However, I would absolutely love to see all the enemy factions again, in the meantime though there must be some lore reason as to why they are excluded from the frontline.

Man I hope everything from the previous games will be in it. Even the color’d hunters, I liked the ODST ones.

I’m relatively certain the Banished will act as a replacement for the standard Covenant forces, as Halo 6 will be the first entry not to feature them as antagonists.

Of course, we’ve seen a broad range of their forces in HW2, but how they would appear within the context of an FPS is an unknown at the moment.

  • The fact that Jackals don’t appear to be part of their forces (not to any great capacity at least) brings the standard combat formation into question, though Skirmishers would be an interesting replacement. Perhaps something to break the ‘shoot hand to drop shield, then shoot face’ formula we’ve been using for 7 games now. - It’d be interesting to see how they utilise the Brute / Elite dynamic with their hierarchical positions reversed, and the new Hunter variants would be a worthy addition to another enemy type we are generally used to. - Grunts and Engi’s, I don’t think they really need to change. - As for vehicles, the Ghost, Chopper, Wraith, Spirit and Banshees don’t really need explaining; though I’d argue that the Banished Lich’s could effectively replace Phantoms as heavy support / gunships to give them some distinction from your Sangheili allies. - Continuing this line of thought, I think some of the H5 designs, the Ghost, Banshee and Phantom specifically, could return, further distinguishing friend from foe; and this is also where I’d suggest bringing back the Revenant for the Elites as a sort of ‘light’ gun carriage instead of merely adding another Wraith variant. - Finally, the Scarabs should be huge, with multiple options for disabling them.

Maybe the jackals will be part of Swords of Sanghelios and we will ally with them.

The Jackals are largely mercenaries, so in all likelihood they’d be hired by the Banished again.

What I would love to see is miniboss type encounters with Goliaths, or something in the Banished’s arsenal of similar weight. Halo’s enemy variety worked so well because it was designed as an RTS and then translated to FPS. I think the Banished, and the Flood from the ATN expansion, provide an excellent enemy template to refresh the encounter design for Covenant and Flood after 16 years.

No idea as of the moment

Anyone remember at the end of Halo 2 there were hunters siding with Arbiter? That would be kind of awesome if we had good hunters. I like how they made some grunts the good guys again in Halo 5.

Am I the only one who is hoping to fight along side the Banished against The Flood and Cortana’s created?

Either that or fight the Banished and the flood along with the Created and through this chaos an alliance may be born

I certainly hope so, as the Prometheans are (IMO) not very fun or interesting enemies in their current form. I don’t see why 343 wouldn’t include the Banished and other species in Halo 6 when Halo Wars 2 has already laid the groundwork for them.

I’d hate to be fighting just prometheans in halo 6…

Please lower your expectations, before getting disappointed.

HW2 starts a couple months after the ending of H5 and I suppose H6 will pick up directly after H5, not like half a year later, because they kinda ended on a cliffhanger.

So, there prob won’t be Banished in H6, until the ending maybe. They might push H6 back, but I think that’s rather unlikely. Just don’t hold your breath.

We could end up fighting against some Jackal pirates, who could later join the Banished, though.

It is a shame because they have a lot of potential to be a good enemy type, but so far 343 has failed to make them an interesting faction. I hope this changes by the time Halo 6 rolls around.

i dont know about the banished being in halo 6 even though i’d think it’d be awesome, but seeing as how cortana calls out every living thing in the galaxy I feel like you now have your reason to include all the species in the next game as both enemies and allies as various factions rally behind/against her.

I think Halo 6 will be an epic end to the new trilogy. An all out war with old enemies and new with new allies and old that we thought were gone. Rather cryptic if you ask me.
