First of all…I should state that I’m not a quitter (feel free to check my gaming history). I’m that guy that will stay in game when players on my team quit and I’m faced 1v4, so for me to receive a ban from Halo5 is an absolute pisstake.

I find it remarkable that 343i have the audacity to ban me (even if it is an automated process) from games on the basis of “poor connection to the dedicated servers”…if I only I could ban 343i from being a games developer for providing poor connections to the dedicated servers for literally thousands of gamers.

I don’t need to justify myself but this is what happened to me this afternoon…

Game1: DNF (disconnected before started)
Disconnected before game even started (0K/0D)

I hate quitters as much as the next man/woman and I’ve had to put up with all kinds of -Yoink- connections courtesy of 343i with their lack of ability to implement a reasonable gaming network infrastructure, and piss poor customer service. I’m not angry…I just find this completely hilarious and hypocritical. -Yoink- you 343i…-Yoink- you Sky broadband.

Ive never got a ban but i think we should really be getting off this ban trend. Its not good for the game some other way must be thought up to counter quitters

Well I had planned a night of gaming with my friends tonight and it was my intention to have us all play Halo5…its 4pm GMT so I’ll still be banned by the time we all go online, and it was an opportunity to encourage my friends to give Halo5 another chance if we played and had fun as a team. It looks like they’ve lost us to SWBF tonight…and if we enjoy that then its unlikely I’ll be able to convince them to return to Halo.

My suggestion for quitters would be flagging the game as a loss with a -25KD…that would stop most of the genuine quitters who it seems only quit to preserve win/loss ratio and KD stats. I’m fully aware that ppl like myself who genuinely disconnected would get caught in the crossfire but it would provide a means to an end.

Sounds like it might be on your end, I’ve been DC’d a total of 3 times and I’ve played a lot since launch (level 63). Make sure your NAT settings are open, and yell at your ISP. Maybe they can come out to your place and fix the issue.

I hear people that live out in the sticks have this problem.

I admit the problems experienced are due to my ISP (Sky). I’ve got an open fault logged with them due disconnections (it dropped a 18 times in 1 hour a few weeks ago) and the line is being monitored, however after a Sky engineer came out, replaced my router, cables and adjusting some settings everything seemed stable until this afternoon.

I know I have a -Yoink- internet connection but its the best available in my area…its usually 4mb down/1mb up but today its been under 2mb down for most of the day (when not disconnecting). My complaint here is being banned for 8 hours…that is EIGHT HOURS…for a few disconnections (only 2 of which were actually during a game) but we as EU gamers have to put with all the crap caused by 343i themselves.

PRetty sure that’s 7 minutes and 43 seconds.

Because I got like 25:43 and it’s 25 minutes.
