So I’ve been playing Halo 5, enjoying arena matches and warzone, and simply having fun. But recently something has happened to me that has really, really agitated me. The Banhammer. Before you think I’m some rage quitter here me out. Never in the 15 years I have been playing Halo have I ever received a single Banhammer, until now on Halo 5.
I was playing Griffball when it came out a couple of months back and I started a bad game. The enemy team spawn camped and there was nothing I could do about it. Then, I proceeded to quit. Fine. Then I join a game that has 30 seconds left and I’m on the losing team, so there was no point sticking around. I quit, and get the Banhammer. Only two games and bam! Oh let me also mention that the Banhammer struck when I was in the middle of another game, making me lose all that progress. (343 also needs to address the annoying thing where you can keep joining games in progress over and over.)
Like seriously, WTF? I didn’t rage quit. I had bad games, only quit twice and then I get beat to death by a Banhammer. But the most recent blow by the Banhammer really took the cake. I was in infection and there was something I had to sort out in the house briefly, so I quickly put the controller down and went to the task at hand, after all, I would only be a couple of seconds. I was wrong and it was more like a couple of minutes. Finally, I got back to the game to realise I had no kills and 11 deaths which was a little embarrassing. So I quit, out of shame for not playing which probably irritated the other players. Then I start up a new game, do really good and kaboom!! The Banhammer strikes again! It’s like a metaphor for police brutality.
So the whole point of this rant was to get 343 to notice this issue and somehow make it less strict, just by a tiny bit. I understand this is controversial because no one has the patience for rage quitters but the innocent also suffer. I had no where else to post this where 343 could possibly notice this. I would also like to know if anyone else had the same experience just so I know I’m not the only one getting trolled by an algorithm or a 343 employee.
Sorry for the long essay, but someone has to adress this.

Praise be to the banhammer. Sing it’s praises in the ban thread.
