So as the title of this topic suggests, it seems that the flawed banning system for Arena multiplayer does not seem to care if you were disconnected from a game in some way. There have been multiple occasions, as of recently, where for no apparent reason, I have lost connection to the game server. And what is my punishment for having said lost connection where I have no power in such? Of course I get a ban! Oh no but not just any ban…AN 8-HOUR BAN. What i suggest is to have Microsoft/343i have their servers be able to recognize whether or not a player was disconnected, or if they ACTUAL LEFT ON THEIR OWN.
Now I know this is supposed to be apart of their system. I know it’s super easy for someone to “trick” the system by pulling and Ethernet cord, or manually shut down the console, or by dashboarding. But there are also so many people that are just screwed over by a random disconnect from the server for whatever reason, and for this “repeated offense” you get banned.
Either that or I’m starting to think that not all games are hosted via dedicated servers, and that some are actually peer-based hosting. Otherwise how would I be randomly disconnected from games as often as i am? I know for a fact that I have a good stable internet connection, as evidence of multiple speed-tests as well as any other games having no issue like Halo 5 to this degree.
I’m just getting tired of this.
