It’s not worth picking up since it’s likely to lose to Sidekick, BR and AR. Well, at least it isn’t as bad as the commando.

Same thoughts, sidekick fires faster and i’ve been getting beat by BR folks easily. I wont be picking this up often.

The Sidekick is undoubtedly better than the Bandit at closer ranges and I think it’s probably about as good at medium range. They are both pretty bad at long range.
The BR is way better at long range and probably about as good at medium range. Neither are good at close range.
The Commando is probably more similar to the Bamdit since it got nerfed. Like the Bandit it’s best at medium range but I think they are pretty even is at long range but the Commando is definitely better up close.
I just can’t see a use case where the Bandit provides a significant advantage and it looses out badly on overall flexibility. I have practised a lot more with the other weapons though, so it may just take some more time.
Depending on the map, I actually prefer the Bandit rifle in a lot of situations.
I’m not saying it won’t turn out to be a competitive weapon but I’m not really using it now or getting killed by it very often. It’s certainly not going to turn out to be OP which is a good thing. If it needs a small buff later then that’s an easier correction for 343i to make than having to nerf everyone’s favourite new weapon.
Overall, I think the Bandit is a fine addition to the arsenal. It’s another weapon to add to the racks, which is cool. I’m glad it didn’t create issues with the BR or the Commando. I still find myself using all three of those mid to long range rifles.
The Sidekick is definitely better in close range as long as the shooter lands that headshot. AR also beats the Bandit close range as well.
You sounded almost right until you said it was as bad as the Commando. Now I’m not wondering about the Bandit being actually bad, but you just can’t use it, same as Commando.
I never used to like the commando at 1st, mainly from the insane recoil which got fixed, so I used it a lot, now I often use it. I’m totally fine with Bandit, Nore varity in weapons is good,
What I’ll never understand is why every gun requires skill to use in this game except the AR and that gun is allowed to be so powerful it obliterates everything it touches.
It feels very awkward to shoot, the slow rate of fire is jarring to me every time I try to use it.

I think the bandit is going to be similar to the commando in that it’ll take some time to get the hang of using it, but once you do figure it out it’ll be fine. The sidekick does seem to outclass it, but that’s a problem with the sidekick and not the bandit.
I don’t know man, maybe it’s just because I spent so much time playing Reach, I easily got a triple kill with the Bandit my first match using it. Sure, it sucks not having the scope, so it feels like content bloat, but I will still pick it up. Iirc it’s only 0.1s faster than the Sidekick ttk, so it’s not really a game changer, but it seems more accurate at mid to long range, while Sidekick is better close to mid range.

the bandit’s just an asset flipped dmr. you cant tell me its different from the dmr just cause it doesn’t have a scope.

I’m not digging it. 5-shot kill and slow fire rate means its outclassed by the pistol and AR at short-mid range, and outclassed by the BR at mid-long range.
It’s only real purpose seems to be as a precision starter for competative so that mode doesn’t just boil down to everyone running BR’s and power weapons. No reason to pick it up in casual modes at all, as far as I can tell.

I’d hands down chose the BR as my starting weapon over the bandit, but as 343 made the Bandit it will end up being the starting weapon through brute force and ignorance.
However, as long as it’s equal I would be happy. I like the way it sounds. Although four shots is better than five.
Prob the easiest to aim and most efficient at most range weapon. It’ll lose to other weapons at close range but agree the best overall weapon in the game.
