The ban hammer struck the wromg gamer

I was playing Halo 4 today with my friend and i get a notigication on it saying i cannot gain online xp anymore, so i assumed it was the daily cap. When midnight rolled around, however, i get on to see a never before seen notification telling me I have been banned from earning xp. I went online to research reasons as to why I was struck by the hammer and came to the conclusion that because I was playing flood with my friend while he was using the guest of my gamertag, the automated banning generators assumed i was using an AFK controller to boost. Guys, I would like to get back to playing Halo 4 with my friends. Someone help me out here, please?

Thanks,

Well looking through your game history, your guest had 0 score at all in several matches.

If he steps away, back out and play with no guests.

Or just don’t cheat, either way.

That is unusual that it’s showing up that way, because I know he had a score in every game we played. They weren’t good scores, but they were still scores either way. And thanks for the advice, but I have seen what happens when you cheat. Fortunately, not the hard way. I just hope this isn’t happening frequently and to too many people. I am afraid 343 will be losing a majority of the Halo fanbase.

It’s an automatic process unfortunately, and automatic process’ can screw up time to time. (Like my bank deciding Game may be a fraudulent company trying to bill me so it BLOCKED THEM AND I DIDN’T GET MY LE!! ahem)

It’s possible if you can find out who to talk to, to clear things up that you may be saved. Is it permanent? I don’t play with guests and never really gave it any thought as to it happening by accident to people who weren’t cheating. (although you will have to excuse me for assuming you may have been, as that is unfortunately a mainstay in the gaming community.)

343 see it as you boosting off your guest…

I totally understand that people think it could have been cheating, and seeing how I have a story to explain it all, it would more than likely make it look more like cheating either way. All I can hope is that my word is trusted lol. I’m a legitimate gamer who just wants to see wtf the specialization classes are all about!

I think that AFKing has a temporary exp ban…so if you wait for some time you will be able to gain exp again…

So does receiving an exp ban mean you cabtt connect to MP? You can still play with friends can’t you? Just without receiving exp?
