Here’s just a little conversation starter. Have any of you felt that your matchmaking puts you in an awkward state in which you feel as if you’re fighting a bunch of children, or John Wick and his extended family after murdering their dog? It’s one or the other. I had smooth sailing from Platinum 6 up into Onyx, the first time achieving that ranking, and now I’m continuously falling match after match as I’m only placed with professionals~ Truly heart wrenching~ Anyone share this sentiment?
Aside from the strange analogy with fighting against children or John Wick, it’s just SWAT where you reach a certain rank, only to plateau to a point and begin to plummet. I once hit Onyx in Breakout about 2 years ago, but now I struggle to get back to that rank (and above)
Once you reach Onyx in Swat, you have to change your game style. Kinda goes for any playlist really. Adapt and conquer. I noticed that after my 3rd loss in Swat. Reached Champ 33. Just 4-5 solid hours of swat and done. Though this is when H5 had a lot more people active. now it takes a while to find a game.
Ive been in this situation before, this is why i do not touch ranked at all anymore.
It’s a shame since I really enjoy SWAT. I suppose I have no choice but to get better~

Yup. I think I only play rank to finish off commendations, but even then it’s too painful. Gotta play the most popular play lists in order to get the right mix of folks who aren’t super-pros
Yesterday I got myself to the middle of plat 6 in elimination and diamond 1 was in my grasp. Nope, 5 straight losses against absolute buzzsaw teams and that was that.
Highest I’ve ever been is a diamond rank 1, Ik that’s nothing compared to Onyx/Champ ranks, but once you hit diamond and above like others said, gotta change your playstyle a bit. Even then, when I was bringing my A-game best I could, team coordination is everything, it only takes one slip up for everything to start going downhill.
Hahahahaha no. Also, now if you say you fell like you are playing kids you are saying you are up against pros since they are always playing now

YES
Swat is just a weird playlist. I’ve been on the verge of Diamond multiple times and have had some really, really dominant matches but then my teams end up tanking and ruining everything. What’s also funny is that you can crush other teams if you just sprint around all round & Spartan charge people. I’ve been doing that for a week to work on commendations and it’s evened out at Platinum 2 LOL
I mean not really with SWAT, but I do feel that way in other playlists. Especially when I was playing really good in FFA, it just felt like some games would go fine, and other times I would get obliterated. But I do see where you’re coming from.
You have to adapt to the style of play from your opponents. Pick your team wisely because in swat it is easy and has been done when one of your randoms go 2 and 19 and it is very hard to carry the backpack in that situation. Most champs in swat run with a team or jump in solo. I have done both and kept my champion rank with a 78% win percentage over 1,000+ games played in one season. It can be done just play smart.

I always avoided SWAT until only recently. I was uncomfortable with it and felt like a fish out of water. Nowadays every 2 out of 3 games I play is on SWAT. I agree with Power. You need the right team. Solo is too hard because your team need to be your eyes with the sharp call outs across the map. I’ve managed to keep my deaths low and win rate high thanks to team strategy and the right bunch of people to run with

Hi Maserati, I’m glad I’m on your team. Maserati brings the rain when on the same team.

Join and play swat with us? Better to go in as a team.
Definitely the John Wick scenario. I can have a full team and end up fighting a team of four John Wicks. In other words, huge regrets.
Man I feel like I am the wild card whether I’ll do amazing on my team or do super bad and since coming back my aim feels super weird sometimes. One day I’ll be in onyx again.

I believe whenever I play against the “professionals” after playing a couple games with the “children”, I seem to rank up if I win that game and if I lose and lose a bunch of rank.

If you’re searching with a full team, I advise you to search with a team of seriously experienced players.
