Once again referring back to that clip and mostly my personal experience, people from medium range can still mow you down with an AR when you have a BR.
The fact is one person is spraying and not using any skills and the other person is actually trying to be skill full by getting head shots but the skill full person losing is wrong.
If the person wielding the AR has a decent aim, anyone that strafes against the AR loses 75% of the time (My personal experience and that video). All you have to do is hold down the trigger and movie it in the direction of the player.
The range is too good and can mow down anybody, even if they are strafing or using thrust.
Overall, I don’t want the AR to be useless but I think it needs to be town down a bit. The fact that you can be outplayed 1v1 by an AR against BR is not right. Please nerf. All feedback and opinions appreciated.

You said it yourself, you have to be OUTPLAYED with an AR to lose with a BR, that conditional requires skill, skill is good, so why are you trying to have a skillful mechanic nerfed? Only the first 1-3 bullets are accurate when aiming with an assault rifle at ranges beyond 20-meters. Once you get further, it starts to spread horrendously, especially once you get into bursts lasting 4 or more rounds.
You have to fire in short controlled bursts to pull that off, sustained fire will get you killed, no exceptions.
What I am saying is I am getting outplayed by the AR, not because the guy has skill but because he is just spraying the gun. With flinch, it makes extremely hard to aim back at someone who just spams the assault rife at you. It’s not right. I’m not saying people cross map AR me. But encounters like on truth just make it really hard to take out someone with an AR.
Of course, if they suck that is different. But say I had to v.s a mirror of myself but my mirror is using an AR. My mirror wouldn’t need to line any shots up, my mirror would just hold the trigger and aim while the other person actually tries to line up headshots. I don’t want the weapon useless, but going into a fight and spraying and praying isn’t skill full.

Okay you have some options.
Get an SMG and engage at very close quarters.
Ambush him.
Spam grenades.
Cross map and use the longer range of your BR to take him out with impunity.
Get a DMR and super cross map him.
You probably engaged someone burst-firing and the animations weren’t 100% accurate, they really haven’t been. I’ve been getting hit by dudes with BR’s and I thought they killed me with an AR or an SMG because the muzzle-flash didn’t sync up correctly.
It’s just a trick of the eyes man. I can almost certainly guarantee you that AR dude was using ADS and firing in controlled bursts, simply put, you were outplayed by someone who was more skilled, and if you couldn’t even hipfire at range with a BR to counter-flinch him and fight back, then you maybe deserved to die to him.
If I may say, I’m not doing planned attacks on one guy with an AR lol. If I have the opportunity with these weapons, yeah I would take the chance. But most of the time when I’m trying to travel around the map to get to a power weapon or support a team mate, you get this AR bloke who comes in spams. This happened in multiple occasions. In some cases maybe people do controlled bursts, but many 1v1 encounters I come across the people literally are holding the trigger.

Try using some of the other mechanics to circumvent him. The sliding mechanic is pretty cool, so is the “Hover/ADS Stabilizer” and the thruster packs as well as the Spartan Charge and the Ground Pound, chance them all, see if you can do something.
Remember though that this is a Beta, and we most definitely are not receiving the fullest arsenal of weapons as counters and whatnot. The AR may not be so “OP” by the time the other weapons come out, so just be patient and think before you call out for nerfing something. Try to see the bigger picture.

I totally get you bro. I’m not saying I’ve never been unsuccessful with beating a guy 1v1 with the dude having an AR. But there are some fights the AR shouldn’t win and have managed to pull it off. I’ll keep playing through the beta and see how I go.

I think everyone should be equally lethal to everyone else so long as they are skilled enough to apply their weapons in the correct environments and situations.
