The Assault rifle in Halo 3 was an average weapon, normally picked over some weapons, depending on players styles to gaming.
In Halo Reach, people are like, ‘Anything over Assault Rifle, it’s crap.’
Sadly, it’s true.
Who decided to add bloom? This means that at a distance over four inches away from an enemy player, you need to fire in bursts. These bursts do about one quarter of the damage of a DMR shot. The other player goes ‘LOL!!! Bang, bang, bang, bang, DEAD!!!’
I think that, rather then an accurate first shot and a wildly inaccurate 32nd shot, have the Average- balanced halo 3 medium reticule without bloom.
The Assault rifle should be, as on Halo 3, a difficult-ish choice to ditch for plasma stuff or keep. Not make people think ‘Okay, game start, dump the crap grab a tree branch and dump the rifle’ and make people think 'hhhmmm… Should I…?

Never had to fire in burst on Reach. I always shoot it like I have since H1. Not many people know the secrete to the AR is to aim at your enemies hips and chest. It takes them down quick. The AR has never shot perfectly straight. It always went in a almost circular ROF. But I have always hated the AR. It’s just annoying.
