The armour argument

I have been very disappointed with Halo 5 when it comes to customization I don’t like the idea of only the helmet visor and body. People are saying that you will have more options because less customization means more complete sets, I decided to do some maths and I found that Halo Reach without including colour or gender has as a insane 1,567,641,600 Possible unique combinations!

That is one billion five hundred sixty-seven million six hundred forty-one thousand six hundred possible armour configurations.

you can try for yourself if you really want I used this list http://www.readyuplive.com/forum/showthread.php/5088-Halo-Reach-Armory-COMPLETE-LIST?s=f9ce93a51898280b1b22e89f1aebcd0c to get all armours.

Good that means at least there is a strong opinion at hand

good thing armor customization doesn’t matter.

Some people rather enjoy the ability to customize in games.

And yet there were still only what: 15 full armor sets? I’m just guessing here. But if we get 100 full armor sets in H5 isn’t that better? It is to me.

I was upset at first, but I’ve made my peace with it.
It makes sense that the suits would be designed as a complete package instead of modular. It could even make sense that the helmet should be the only thing that’s interchangeable.
Mixing and matching is a lot of fun though.

At least the armors in Halo 5 are really distinct and stand out from each other. There is more variety in detail and form than in any past Halo game. Yeah you can’t mix and match…but the difference between the Nightfall set and Centurion is quite interesting…as is the Centurion set very different from Helioskrill.

Personally I would much rather the ability to customize unique pieces than just using pre-set bodies, but this leads me to my other problem… why did 343 choose to avoid making them modular? Making sets is no harder than making modular armour from a artist and modelling point of view, programming for this might be more tricky but it should still be very simple for a studio of 343’s standard.

So many people complained about Halo 4 customization i can see why 343 would dumb it down.

No one complained about customization being too good. Why would they? The complaints were centered around lackluster visual design in the armor pieces that were offered.

I’m slightly dissapointed by it, I’ll see too many people out there with the same stuff as me, at least in the other games I could feel more unique.

And good thing 343 hasn’t taken your opinion. You may not care about it, but being able to personalize my character has appealed to me in any game. Responding to the original post, I’m fine with just the armor chassis, helmet, visor and color. I think there are gonna be a ton of options for armor.

Illuminati confirmed

I am really bummed out by it, customisation set it apart for me. You had the ability to create your spartan, how you would want to look.

Halo reach brought it forward a huge step and even though Halo 4 had worse armors, it still had customisation.

Sure we have skins and animations but a 100 Hummers in a 100 different colors is still the same Hummer. Sure yours has a different color but in teams it is red and blue. It isn’t a deal breaker but still a bit of a shame for me.

It matters to me. I like armor customization, it allows me to make my spartan unique and makes me stand out from everyone else.

Loominaty conformed.
OP, you have to take in the fact that many of Halo: Reach’s armor sets were just small changes to the original ones. Not exactly a “huge” difference, as some sets added a radio to the helmet, extra ammo to the chestpiece etc. I’m kinda disappointed by that too, as my H4 character uses the prefect leggings, while i don’t like the chestpiece at all. We just all have to live with it. There will be alot more armor sets in H5.

I absolutely love customizing my Spartan in every Halo game, especially in Halo: Reach & Halo 4 (Since they had the most customization options). I’m not to thrilled w/ the option to limit the customization to the helmet, visor, colors, & body.

This is really disappointing to me, judging that they’ve done it in the past & decided to remove it for whatever reason. But, like the news about split screen, I’ll eventually get over it.

I really wish they at least add shoulder customization

They complained about the look of the new armor permutations, not the amount of options presented to them.
