Going back on the question of whether or not the pre order armor skins can be used on any armor, I came up with this. Looking at the Locust and Deadeye skins, they’re for specific armor, so I think the skin selection may be like Reach’s helmet attachment, where you get the variant with the skin through code, but if you want the plain helmet, you need to unlock it separately. So when you select Locust variants, the bonus one is the only one available when you first start. However, with the full body skins, it almost makes it seem that you can select a skin for the entire body, not just each individual armor part. I don’t think they would have the pre order skins only available for a specific armor (i.e Web skin on CIO) unless they let you unlock that armor variant on Day 1. But that means that all the armor should be equal in difficulty to unlock to make it fair. This points to the idea that the skins are not limited to specific armors and can be used on any armor. However, this contradicts the helmet-only skins, which are for specific armor pieces. I think I’ve confused myself with this thread. Anyone want to help with any theories?
Ya once I found out that the skins were suit specific, even if we can patchwork our armour, the skins are still piece specific, so I no longer care about the very dear to my heart Web motif.
Don’t really care about skins at all because of how specific they may be.
Not really game altering though, just a useless yet superfluous option to me

Have they been confirmed to be specific? Does that mean we get the armor unlocked immediately?
Not true. 343 said that the pre-order bonuses come with JUST the armour skins but those skins were designed for the armour you see in the picture, so it can be on ANY armour.
Wait, so the skins can be used on ANY armor or just the armor from the preorder picture?

^That is the question. I’ve been waiting for the answer since they announced the skins.
Hmm I would assume the skin could could be used on any armor. At least I hope so
So far the wording is that the skin is suit-piece specific.
It would be ashame if it is armor specific.
I was wondering the same thing as well. There have been instances where the skins seemed to be armour specific, but others where they seemed to be for any armour set. Honestly, if a skin is only for a specific armour set, then what’s the point of having it as a pre-order bonus? It’s not like most people will use it in that case, since I doubt everybody who bought the game from EB Games, for example, will use HAZOP.
I just wish somebody would come out and tell us what the truth is, to clear things up once and for all.
I think there will be skins for each armor piece so don’t worry.
There are 2 pieces of evidence that point in different directions. First is, if the skins are armor specific, then will we unlock the armor as soon as we enter the codes? Is GUNGNIR harder to unlock that HAZOP? If so, then the pulse armor is a better deal. However, I doubt it, so I would think that it’s available for all armors.
On the other hand, the Locust and Deadeye skins are only for helmets, specific helmets. Wut? Does each body part get its own skin selection?
I never read any of the information about skins as being armor-specific. It all seemed pretty general: Pulse, Web, et al look like they can be used on any armor. There wouldn’t be much of a point to having skins otherwise.
