The armor core system is bad and your bad 343, go sit in the corner and think about what you’ve done.
I don’t enjoy the new armor core system because it completely limits my ability to customize my spartan the way I want to. I expected that I would be able to use all pieces and mix and match how I saw fit. However, apparently it’s more important to 343 the I set up my armor according to how they see fit. What’s more is the armor coatings are just horrible. What ever happened to being able to choose my base color and then pick a secondary color and maybe even a third?
Ultimately this feels like a scummy way to grab players money. I have played Halo since the very beginning, but if this is they way they want to do business I will have no problem dropping the game completely. I really hope you guys at 343 fix at a minimum the armor core system. I don’t have a problem with cores I have a problem with not being able to use all available armor pieces on a given core. It’s not a cool and neat thing, it quite honestly sux.

I wish that instead of monetizing colors and armor that they would just sell us dlc packs and map packs like the old days.
I genuinely don’t understand how or why so many people cried and moaned about post launch dlc back in the day, I love what 343 has been trying to do with infinite but the customization limits just aren’t the right way to go about it.
It especially sucks considering just how close we are to having the best customization in a Halo game to date and from 343 no less.
I feel they’ll do what’s right and fix it, they seem like they finally sort of understand what the community has always loved about the franchise.

I never expected I’d be able to mix and match everything, and I was okay with it. Like, the Reach Chest add-ons were clearly built on top of the reach chest base. Same with the wrist attachments and a few other pieces. Stuff like that I can understand being locked to one armor core. But making everything locked is too far. Why wouldn’t the Mark VII Helmet fit on the Reach core? Why are Visor colors of all things specific to armor cores? It just doesn’t make sense if there goal was to give players diverse customization.

I can’t even put my Monarch armor coating on the Mark V base. Basically means I’ll never use that armor core lmao

I agree, I assumed we’d be able to mix and match all armor earned. Instead we are limited to using a core and if you got a hcs kit your can’t use that armor coating or visor on anything else but that kit. We need to be able to mix and match as we see fit as well as use any preset armor coatings on anything. Honestly let me pick my own colors and let armor coatings just be textured (high gloss, Matt black, ext). I stopped playing halo 5 bc req packs and feeling like I could never make my Spartan feel like “my Spartan”. I’d hate to close the door on halo again bc 343 is still trying to milk us for micro transactions. Bring back the normal progression system like in reach and halo 5. Don’t do us dirty like you did in halo 5 though lol

That’s my thoughts as well. I can kind of understand bulky or very specific stuff like chest pieces being core restricted. However, helmets, visors, and coatings really should be universal between all cores. Restricting them is just pointless money grubbing that further restricts player expression.

In my opinion, it was guaranteed that Infinite would be predatory and scummy with its monetization the moment the game went F2P. You can count on one hand the number of big games that are both F2P and also have monetization that isn’t essentially defined by being predatory and scummy, and none of those games are made by a big AAA publisher.
I also imagine that Microsoft is much more to blame here than 343. Most of the 343 devs are probably more interested in trying to make a great game (which they have finally done!) than trying to squeeze every last possible penny out of the player base.

I think what bothered me the most about this new system was when I realized coatings and visors were armor core specific. And obviously I’d like to mix and match armor from different cores. But if that isn’t possible then at least allow visors and coatings to be universal between armor cores.
