I have been seeing posts and videos saying the AR is OP. what a load of nonsense. are we seriously talking about this AGAIN? What you meant to say is that the AR is USEFUL. H5’s AR was good at launch for a while but the tuning’s update ruined it and that’s on the complainers out there. why do you people want AR to be useless again? it’s practically useless in almost all of Halo’s multiplayer and now that it is a good starting weapon that can hold it’s own, you guys say it’s OP?
it’s like you guys only want BR’s to work and nothing else. all weapons should be useful.
if you’re going to complain about some of the weapons in INFINITE, talk about the plasma pistol or the pulse carbine. have you guys noticed that no one was bothering with those weapons in arena? those weapons were practically ignored. if you want the AR to be nerfed, then it will be useless again.
I’d like for there to be some descoping on it and the other 1.4 magnification weapons. I don’t see why the AR or any weapon should be allowed to stay zoomed in while the weapons that are supposed to excel at ranged combat get knocked out of the scope when the user takes damage. The AR used to be only a close ranged weapon but now it’s being allowed to have a mid-ranged presence. I’m fine with that but I think it should have to play by the rules. As far as how strong the weapon is, maybe you’re letting your desire for a strong AR blind you to how good it is? I guess you can argue the opposite and say people want only BRs to be strong but I’m not really interested in an argument. I’m just saying take an unbiased look at the weapon.
Agreed on the lack of descoping being an OP aspect of the weapon.
I personally find automatic weapons boring to use. So in every halo game to date would drop the assault rifle for the first precision weapon I see.
In think the reason why I think that the AR is OP is because I don’t see the need to pick up any other weapon. The AR was all you needed in the game.
I like the idea of the AR having headshot damage. to me it makes sense that regardless of the bullet type it does damage to the head. But I don’t think you should rip shields down from someone 30m away at the same rate as a BR. there are Videos that prove that the BR and AR have the same TTK at every range in the academy.
