The AR is actually viable!

In close quarters maps like Abandon the AR is more than capable of handling itself, een against the almighty precision weapons of yore. If your opponent misses even one shot you’ll stand a good chance of killing them. And it’s mid-range capabilities are better than ever. Learn to feather your trigger at a good pace and it can get kills from quite a distance, rendering it far more effective than the bludgeoning tool it was relegated to being before.

Too bad you forego any dignity you would have held by using it.

It’s always been viable.

Not really. In most games it would pretty much lose no matter what to the precision weaponry.

And also, who loses more dignity, the guy using the AR or the guy who loses to the guy using the AR?

Always the guy using it. You understand that it’s strategic role in Halo has been a low input/output gun for newer players with a non-existent learning curve?

an intelligent and classic burn, i like it XD lols

You realize that utilizing effective tools and foregoing said tools because one considers them “noob ish” and “unskilled” is foolish right? We have a word for that in the fighting game community, it’s called being a scrub. It’s been buffed considerably in this iteration; the stigma of it being a beginner weapon is pretty much moot in this game.

See now you’ve gone and taken what I’ve said out of context and acted high and mighty over it. Whether or not it’s received a DPS/Accuracy boost it’s still a bullet-hose intended for Shoot-melee combos in a game where melee is a 2hk. Combined with heavy aim-assist and bullet magnetism it’s role is very much still a crutch-weapon, and while effective universally, is not rewarding for any experienced or skilled player.

Ah, but there is where you make your mistake; you make a blanket assertion about player skill levels and preferences without solid cooberating data. I consider myself to be pretty good at Halo, and am more than capable of handling myself in a precision vs precision weapon fight, but I also recognize situations in which a weapon such as the AR can be effective and fun to use, and thus take advantage of it when said situations present themselves.

You can go ahead and peruse my stats if you want, you won’t find anything to pull on me.

In Halo 4 its a weapon for extremely efficient close range combat.

This thing is deadly at close range, which is what it is now intended for.
