The appearance of equipment

No, I do not mean what they look like, but when they where first fielded.
Equipment used almost exclusivly by the covenant, appeared in-game around october (the time of odst)

My question. When did those “alien -Yoinks!-” start using equipment, like the bubble shield and power drain? I have a theory (a very nerdy one at that) That equipment was developed privately before the Great Schism exclusivly for Truth’s brute forces. Mind you, this is simply my guess. Please share what you think.

P.S. Merry Christmas!

Nerdy? What?

The bubble shield has a connection with ONI. In the package, you see a bubble shield in use. The power drain is covenant.

Wow, thank goodness you did’t understand a word I said (sarcasm)

First of all, how can you even consider halo legends canon? Second, I already know that most equipment is of covenant origin. My question was when did they start fielding them.

Perhaps you should actually read my post before writing a foolish one…

… [rolls eyes]
There goes my support.

Legends is all canon (except for the one episode)…get over it :stuck_out_tongue:

Well, seeing as how the Spartans have a Bubble Shield in the Package, then one can assume that the Covenant forces have always used some form of the Equipment throughout the war.

But why?

It was sooo awful! C’mon the package was the worst out of the lot of 'em!

I was under the impression that the Bubble Shield was actually made by ONI late in the war and scavenged by Brutes.

The deployable cover was the brutes version of a jackle shield made by the prophet of mercy in 2524 this was later taken by captain keyes when he was on a stroll through the gaxlicy with the pillar of autum this design was used as a spartan shield for the first test run but later failed. It was seen again 25 years later when the covys decieded it would be a good pointless piece of crap to put on the battlefield as a distraction.

Contact Harvest was bad, have a problem with that being canon?

So the quality of a storyline determines its validity. Canon is determined by 343, and lets see the examples of crap that we must unfortunately accept as canon:

Glasslands (F*** you Karen)
Halo Reach
Contact Harvest
Halo Encyclopedia (unless they specifically pointed out one of its many errors)
Halo the Graphic Novel/First Strike (these weren’t bad themselves, but they kept contradicting each other)

Notice how Halo Legends wasn’t on that list. It is complete canon, except for odd one out in Cortana’s rampancy. It was good canon too, especially the Package.

Equipment was used throughout the war, it was just never seen in-game until Halo 3.

Like some people have said, look at Halo Legends: the Spartans use a bubble shield, which is a technology developed by ONI.

That’s only for Origins!
