In the Halo 5 Beta, the Announcer (Jeff Steitzer) sounded completely ridiculous. I appreciate 343i’s efforts to make the Announcer dialogue more interesting and more emotional, but the outcome of that turned out negatively. The Halo 5 “Double Kill” is whiny, childish, fluctuates too much in tone of voice, and sounds like a cheesy announcer from the 90s complimenting your rad skateboard move.

Agreed. I didn’t like his double kill. At all. Some of the things he said were like the original, but then it just became… annoying.
I don’t mind. I’m not going to be playing a match and think about how the tone and emotion of the game’s announcer sounds different from past Halo games. That snipeltanious medal on the other hand…
He was better monotone. He’s bad enough in halo 2 anniversary
Am I the only person in the world that thinks he sounds better in Halo 2: Anniversary and Halo 5? To me he sounds so boring in the older Halos. Especially Halo: CE and Halo 2.

I don’t think he sounds better or worse. I have no problems with how he sounds, but some of what he says, “CONTROL POWER WEAPONS TO DOMINATE THE ENEMY TEAM” is almost too noob friendly to believe.
Like c’mon, you need to give the player some benefit of the doubt here, especially when you’re announcing over and over during gameplay when and where power weapons are spawning.

30 seconds till sniper spawn…15 seconds till spawn…10 seconds till spawn…5 seconds till spawn…sniper spawn. What is this a NASA countdown?
I agree though, he is super hyper active. I do think 343 said they are cutting down on his announcements though.
