Not a single ranked game goes by without a quitter.
This game is 5 years old, the punishments are way too light. Quitting ranked should be penalized harsher.

Straight up. If you pair with rando’s and don’t use your mic don’t expect to win many games. I personally do that but never quit because quitting is for SUCKAS.
And also when there are no quitters people just AFK.
I don’t use the mic because even tho I speak perfect english my accent will turn people hostile.

You will be pleasantly surprised by how few people truly get turned off by different accents while playing online. It’s much more beneficial to have someone give a heads-up for something happening on the battlefield than not. And if someone starts betraying you because of your accent, then I think that says a lot about his/her character more than anything else.

I disagree. My xbox overheats easily despite the 2-3 fans that blow on it constantly which causes it to turn off. This counts as a quit and it has happened so many times I would have 150 more csr than I have now which would put me at low champ. A very severe punishment if you ask me.
it is also annoying that an onix 1700 or more plays with a pl and -10 csr huhuhu
I went into quickplay just now. 3 of my team mates left and none came from J I P.
I went into ranked team arena. 2 of my team mates left and I got so frustrated after trying to hang on I left. Man it’s so hard to enjoy the game without friends it ain’t even funny. I wish it didnt happen so often to where it makes a quitter out of me these days…

dude ppl make me lose on the daily in ranked cus of quitting out…so your situation is understandable but i think this thread is just pointing out that dudes quitting out and being inconsiderate should be punished with a soft ban or something which i agree. sucks it wouldn’t be able to differentiate between an actual quit and a network/console error like in your case but tbh the rest of your team shouldn’t be punished for that either…
so yeah, personally I think there needs to be more in place to punish quitting/AFK in ranked. It’s very noticeable since I usually just play by myself or with one friend so I generally get 3 random teammates in a match, generally those are the ones that don’t give a crap and will either quit, AFK, or betraying people the whole match and throwing that game like a '-Yoink!-.

It is quite inconsiderate of you to be honest. Playing ranked knowing that your xbox overheats easily causing you to quit and put your teammates at a huge disadvantage to lose
This. ^^ In all honesty, if you continued to play Ranked knowing there is a good chance your system could regulalrly cause you to “quit” then that is on you. That’s like jumping into a match knowing you will mostly likely have to back out and ditch your team because you have to leave somewhere but you still jump into the match anyway. You still put your team at a disadvantage and you know there is a good chance it will happen so you should receive punishment for it.

damn put me on blast! I edited my post most likely while you were replying to it cus i didn’t wanna come off too harsh hahaha but yeah man it is just frustrating i have been playing a lot lately and quitters have been throwing a wrench in my rank. obviously there is more important stuff to worry about in life…its just a rank in halo. but maybe it is just the competitive side in me hating to lose, going back to my 50 days in halo 3!!
if you or anyone wants to play hit me up on xbox! i am usually on every day or every other day playing ranked or warzone ff or w/e.
Yep. Quitters has always been a thorn in the gaming community. It’s a sad reality that affects all of us who just wants to enjoy the game. One of the only ways to avoid is to play with friends or people in your SC/clan/whatever but that’s not always possible so we’re “stuck” with randoms. Well you roll the dice, sometimes the odds are not in your favor. We’ve all been there pal.
The penalty being a bit harsher is like another topic but generally yea I agree. But it’s always a bit hard to distinguish if a person left by quitting or they got d/c or left because an emergency came up and they had to leave. To other people, it’ll always look like they “quit” but without knowing the reason (unless they gave their teammates a heads up or something) then I leave a small amount of doubt in my head.

Yeah, pretty sure every single quitter (specially on objective game modes) is because of faulty fans.

For example in games like Overwatch, there’s almost never a quitter because of you quit you get a 30 minute ban, and if you quit again, you get a 24 hour ban.
I’ve been in games where one of my friends accidentally quits and gets banned, and so we have to switch to social.
I think it’s OK, it’s a small price to pay for a more robust system.
The punishment in Halo 5 is near non existant.

It seems like MCC is a lot harsher on their bans with this. I have literally been playing h3/reach before and someone will run in front of my scope when i am sniping last second and of course i’ll get an accidental betrayal, and i will get booted from the game like WTF lol. i remember that happened before and i couldn’t do matchmaking for a couple minutes cus they banned me i was like seriously? just for one accidental betrayal. I was literally scoped in then as soon as i pull the trigger all i see is the back of some dudes head on my team taking up my whole screen. Lol

Yeah, I have to save up for college I don’t have money to buy consoles whenever I like as a full time student. I have the most fun in ranked so the fact that I have to not play at all because of an issue with the manufacturing of my console doesn’t seem fair. It only happens one to two times a day.
If quitting is getting worse, I bet it has to do with the widening disparity of skill in any given match due to a dwindling population. The system will put Champs on the same team with Golds in an effort to balance out the average MMR with the other team for “fair” matchmaking. While the scoreline might be close, the Champs are frustrated they have to carry and the Golds are frustrated that they are getting demolished.
Aside from that, the system will sacrifice a team with a 1% chance of winning to a premade team of 4 because they have been sitting in a queue too long.
I’d say that quitting is the result of bad matchmaking in 90% of cases.
I think you’re mad with those who leave, but servers aren’t too advanced to see who leaves intentionally and who leaves for a ''Lost Connection"
I mean when im winning the servers kick me out and tells me that when my internet is good, sometimes is not the players but the game.

No ones telling you that you can’t play ranked man…have at it. That is why i play ranked as well, i have more fun in there than quickplay. All we are saying is that there needs to be more consequences for leaving the match despite whether it is on your own accord, or not. If you are going into a game knowing that there is a possibility that your xbox might turn off and make you quit, then you’re also capable of going into a match and realizing that if that were to happen, you’re going to have to deal with the consequences. How is it fair for you to be able to do that with no repercussions, while also being fair for people trying to have a fair even fight, only for one or more of their teammates to leave the game? It’s not. Try to look at it objectively and not be bias just because of your situation. It is a Catch 22

I’m personally not stuck up on my rank. My point was that the consequences seem fair to me seeing as how I should have 200 or more csr than I have now. If my xbox turns off 4 times in one week (it usually does 1 or 2 times a day) that is 120 csr lost. The consequences are very fair.
Quitters are immature and inconsiderate.
Moreover, they often quit in the first few minutes. Comebacks are possible. And achieving one is usually one of the most satisfying results. Quitting robs you and your teammates of that experience.
