Are you implying I should pay more to fix their game? When they should’ve had it fixed from the get go?
Not to be a -Yoink!-, but I feel like the only reason I should have to pay for something is when the quality of the item I’m paying for meets the price tag.
That’s a fair assessment right? Is an AI, emblem and the color green worth $20 to you? Think about all the things you can buy with $20 and think about what you’ve bought in the past for that same price or even less.
No freaking duh. We all wanted a customization system akin to Halo Reach and be able to unlock armor pieces by playing the game and winning marches. Hell, you can’t even mix match armor pieces… All these regressions and…you expect Halo fans to go on their hands and knees and buy out the store? What are you smoking?
When it was announced to it was free to play fans were already dreading this battle pass store.
The F2P model is far better than the old model, which forced us to pay a $60 yearly subscription fee just to have access to the online multiplayer. That was terrible, and resulted in a lot of people (myself included) never being able to play my game with friends because I could not afford the subscription.
F2P allows people to play the game, and provides a much better value to the customer.
In Halo 5, there do despite this exist few items that are tightly sealed behind a paywall. This includes the none default Announces (Voices of War) and some of the HCS related weapons skins. The same could also be seen with Halo 4 in relation to the Championship bundle (nowdays free).
For me, I’m relatively happy with the monetization system seen in Halo Infinite mainly due to it being restricted to none gameplay affected features. This can be compared to the systems seen in Halo 5 and Halo Wars 2 where gameplay affecting features got monetized which in turn created a pay to win system. In addition to this, these 2 games had a monetization system without a complete transparency about the content of the offers due to the usage of loot boxes that provides a random set of items. This can be compared to the system seen in Halo Infinite where 343 Industries are fully transparent on what is contained in each offer in order to give the player the possibility to make an informed decision about a given purchase.
On the other hand, my main complaints about the monetization system in Halo Infinite is increased transparency about the contents of the Halo Infinite store bundles on Halo waypoint. Few of the main issues is that it’s unclear where a specific items could be used. For instance, there is no indication on which weapons that a weapon coating could be used, which items that an emblem could be applied or which armor core that supports a given armor customization item. In addition to this, it would be helpful if the monetization of the different progression paths got removed like xp boosts for battle pass completions or challenge swaps in order to ease the process to unlock the weekly ultimate challenge.
In addition to this, it would also be helpful if few long term progression goals got implemented with long term goals like a global rank with a final rank to strive for like Inheritor in Halo Reach, SR130 in Halo 4, SR152 in Halo 5 and T11/L30 in MCC. Furthermore, it would also be good if a large set of commendations got added and if there existed long term progression targets that aren’t restricted to multiplayer matchmaking like campaign commendations/challenges.
Unfortunately loads of players have spent thousands on the store already. I’m more pissed at the players than 343 right now
I literally bought the cat ears just because people complained about them. I haven’t even equipped them. Each time I read a forum post in which people complain about F2P, I re-up my credit balance.
