The aiming in this game

is completely -Yoinked!- up. Anyone else agree?

Yeah there are quite a few threads on this already though man. Just so ya know.

Can’t say I disagree, let them know at whatever means.

I agree. Its a lot different than other halos imo.

It would be better to have a central thread with tons of replies that is constantly at the top of the page rather than dozens upon dozens that just get buried within minutes by other topics.

It feels like Halo CE to me. It even has the reticle in the center of the screen. I think it’s supposed to be hard. Halo 4 pretty much aimed for you.

Definitely agree.

It’s different than other Halos. Main difference being you actually shoot straight, what do you guys find different about the aim? Personally I think it’s a lot better

Agree >.<

I thought it was quite nice in comparison to other halo games, don’t think it needs to change.

I agree. Everyone’s been complaining about the recent games having too much aim assist and magnetism, so they tone it down to CE levels, now everyone keep yelling that it’s “broken”

The aiming is weird; at some points it seems fine, but the dead zones…my god those dead zones

Yes, I completely agree, but instead of just complaining, you should articulate what is bad about the aiming mechanics, and why those aspect produce negative value to the game. Otherwise people are going to get confused.

  • The across the board sensitivity drop that occurs when your reticle gets near a target causes the reticle to feel heavy, sluggish, an unresponsive to player input. 343 assumes that diminishing all player input is going to be helpful. But its not helpful, this aiming mechanic is a hindrance to the aiming process, and often leads to massive levels of under aim.
  • There is a massive acceleration jump that occurs at about 80% joystick deflection. Once this threshold is crossed, the reticle lurches forward bypassing all other rotational speeds. The input and output relationship between the joystick and the in-game results is unintuitive and unpredictable.
  • The maximum 10 sensitivity is painfully slow compared to other Halo games. This is by far the slowest turning I have even seen from Halo.
