…is that, rather ironically they impede any constructive criticism of what can and should be improved about Halo 5. Yes the game is not perfect and issues should not be hand-waved away. Adressing these (non-critical but still notable) issues is important for maintaining player population. We know this and 343 know this. There is no grand conspiracy of 343 twirling their collective mustaches and plotting to destroy Halo. The thing is though, every single “critical” thread on waypoint (as of now) is just a hate fest. Topics of the kind that state how “343 have ruined Halo” and how “Halo 5 is the worst thing since -Yoink!-” have no real meaning or purpose. Heck we’ve had topics that directly attack or insult specific members of 343’s dev team. Tell me why, with such a attitude, should the developers listen to us? Put your issues with the game out in a constructive way and don’t insult the devs. Is that really that hard, people? We all what is best for this amazing game so how about we start acting like it.
Why are you people so stupid? If something is wrong with a game, we point it out in hopes that it gets fixed or the same mistake isn’t made in the next game. What does any of that have to do with hate, hate, hate? I love Halo. I want to see it succeed. It’s not right now because of some problems that I and many people have pointed out. That’s not hate. That’s love. Love for a franchise I’ve been with since the beginning that I don’t want to see go down the drain and become another generic FPS shooter with no story and bad multiplayer.

As I said, critiqueing the game is not the issue. If you have problems with certain aspects of the game (sprint, spawn system, aiming, etc.) by all means, point it out. But most of the negative topics on the site go out of their way of being over the top and super hyperbolic (problem “x” ruins the game and 343 should be ashamed for what they’ve done). Just want people to be a bit more civil, that’s all.
I never read negative nellie posts. It will ruin your gaming experience. If you like this game. play it and have fun. Who cares what others think!
Its just a bunch of sad kids whining to get attention. More than likely, there’s other problems going on besides this. Its never just one thing.
Personal example; a good friend of mine, who’s a Halo lore nut, is going back to Destiny because she can’t handle the multiplayer here. She says its because she’s not good…but I think its more to do with her inability to handle stress because of other issues. More than likely thats a common issue.
I have no problem with criticism, but a lot of the negativity isn’t that. It’s generalities that people spew out, and then a bunch of replies, either agreeing or protesting the simple statement like ‘These maps suck, and are the worst ever’ or ‘It’s impossible to play because of X’, instead of pinpointing the problem. Saying, ‘MP could be improved by workign on X’ or ‘X feels weak’, that’s criticism. The majority of the ‘negative’ posts I’ve read are like the fist examples, and unfortunately the garner the largest response from people and are pushed to the top.
Constructive criticism is a good thing, games always need constructive criticism to help grow up and become a better game. A lot of the negative threads are the same crap over and over again, they don’t critic the game they just blindly hate on it and use pretty lame excuses. I have my own issues with the game but I’m still pleased with it.
And this is a part of being a game developer. Taking feedback like, “GUN BALANCE SUCKS SO MUCH!!!” and gathering statistical evidence to support said feedback. If there’s stats showing that there is balance issues somewhere you figure out the best way to address it.
That type of feedback isn’t really the problem. The huge problem (And the reason we see so many on the first page…) is people then read that feedback and start a flaming war. Instead of just letting the person voice their opinion and move on, they have to comment something egging on a hateful reply… and it spreads from there.
Because the Halo’s Major Fanboys just want the game to be the same as Halo 3. Actually lets be honest here, all they complain about is 343 being the developer and not Bungie. Which is ironic since most of 343 employees are made up of former Bungie employees.

Except 343 is not made up of former Bungie employees. I thought that rumor died off years ago. People are still stupid enough to believe that?

Ayy, I just go with the flow. I really don’t know if it true or not but I just don’t have an enough time to go through that sort of stuff.
People are free to speak their mind within the rules if people don’t like them they are free to move along otherwise you become the very thing you critisize.

This. The only thing worse than blind hatred is the over-zealous fanboyism.
Most negative post are “im bad at this game so it sucks!” While a few do adress actual problems such as “X is negativly affecting the game for Y reason.” The latter of the two typicaly inclues a how to fix the problem and is by far the more cedible of the two.
I like H5 but there are som things that do need to change as they drag the whole down.
