The AA Wraith...

I’ve finally unlocked the Anti-Air Wraith, and seeing as it’s one of my favorite Halo vehicles I was pretty excited to try it. But 343 being 343 just had to disappoint me somehow. The thing is terrible in pretty much every regard; practically every air target is a bigger threat to the Anti-Air Wraith than the AA Wraith is to them. The fuel rods have about 1/4 the damage of a standard fuel rod and it takes ages to kill any air target, especially when the rounds are easily evaded. To top it off, the armour is weak and the turret overheats too fast.

Pls make this a level 6 REQ and make the armour and weapons twice as strong.

It’s useful in firefight, but that’s about it.

maybe they did that to make room for more variants of it in future, like sword & ultra versions.
these would have better armor, weaponry and range

cuz the range is very very bad on this one being it an anti air vehicle, the tank does an better job taking out air targets

Yea I agree. I mostly use them on WZFF.

They just need to make a variant for it. Make the anti air ultra so to speak. Should have more powerful fuel rods, more armor and more importantly a longer lock on range.

Even base variants of most vehicles are not this useless though. The vehicle itslef needs some tweeks.

For sure. The AA Wraith is at least usable when compared to the ONI Gungoose, which is utter garbage.

It should fire actual fuel rods, which one-shot Spartans and track like a Hydra, in the fact that they come back around.

Ultra AA Wraith - Fires Pool of Radiance Fuel Rods and has very good tracking, which tracks like the Warden’s Black Hole attack. Has increased armor and turret is a 3-shot because it has an explosion after-effect, similar to the Ultra Ghosts’. Also takes longer to overheat.

Temple AA Wraith - Fires the Light of Ur’s shots, meaning that it has increased tracking, damage, and rate of fire. It also has a longer boost and has better handling. It also takes longer to overheat and cools down faster. The overheating would take longer than the Ultras’.

Looks like the AA Wraith was only meant for Firefight.

I love the AA wraith. Good at taking out infantry and air. Used it for turbo, taking down banshees, phaetons and wasps. Works a treat.

I disagree you can fire more rounds than a wraith ultra/temple. Meaning you can kill way more. If you fire it efficiently then you technically don’t even have to wait for a cool down.

The tracking on air targets is quite strong as well. I think just a buff to the overall damage and a bit of armour would do the AA Wealth fine

Such as a Ultra variant that is like the continuous beam of the Scarab or the Halo 3 hunter that destroys vehicles faster.

This is only useful in WZFF.

It’s pretty useful if you are in one of those warzone matches where the enemy is spamming banshees or wasps. To me it’s like a wasp, best used to harass and hold back an enemy while your team moves in. You can’t go charging in with it but in the right situation it’s pretty good for a low req level vehicle.

You people will take any chance you can to bash 343i, won’t you?

The anti-air wraith has always been garbage. Even in Halo 3 it was garbage when driving it (yes you can do it, look it up.) Now, a buff should be made given it’s finally an official player driving vehicle, but don’t act like it was ever good.

I think the turret’s fine but the fuel rods do need a damage buff and increased tracking.

Not very effective against something big like a warden in firefight, but useful against small infantry.

Agreed. And no, there’s about 1000 REQs (estimated) in halo5, and there focused on one.

I bash 343i where bashing is due, and I find its due quite a lot. IMO they have killed the Halo franchise, but I digress… The H3 AA Wraith wasn’t garbage, i don’t know how you think that, it was probably the most powerful vehicle in the game, it rapid fired full-damage fuel rods with no cooldown. It could kill a hunter in about 6 shots on legendary. Obviously the H5 one shouldn’t be like that but it should come kind of close

The biggest problem with the Anti-Air Wraith is that its main targets can completely ignore it without much issue.

The Banshee can flip its way to infinity and beyond. Every time it flips, the AA Wraith’s bullets lose their tracking. Also, the top speed of the Banshee is faster than the speed of the Wraith shots.

The Wasp can attack from outside the AA Wraith’s range, making it useless unless you’re really good at leading in a 3D space.

The Phaeton can teleport.

You can change to attacking enemies on the ground, but they don’t track anything and even players can out maneuver the shots.
