I’ve been playing through the campaign and I have been enjoying it. However it’s very frustrating that the A.I. (Both U.N.S.C. and Banished) will not drive any of the vehicles.
The Marines will only ride along. The Banished never get in their ghosts…This is a missing feature that has been around since the first Halo.
Is this something 343 is working on? Or is this just not a thing anymore?
Has anyone else noticed this issue?

No, it’s something they’re working on. Friendly AI not being able to drive vehicles in the Campaign/MP was a thing since the flights.
Oh alright, thanks for the clarification!

Honestly I’ve never noticed since the only time I even bring Marines along is when I happen to stop while in a vehicle that allows passengers and they just kind of hop in. I’m someone who prefers to drive, so I guess I would just never have noticed this.
okay, hot take. the marine AI in the campaign is kinda useless. their path finding doesn’t exist in certain places, sometimes they just stop following you on a clear path, and they’re really only useful as the turret of a hog… that’s it
and the bot AI… yeah, kinda weird 343 never added a way for them to drive vehicles in mp. despite them not being able to in the flights buuut okay
Give them all tracker rockets and load them up in a razorback enjoy

Yeah, they seem to be working in a lot of regular things.

It makes sense that it’d be difficult for friendly AI to drive… where should they drive to? In a linear Halo game, they know where to go, but in the open world, you’re in charge. If you could tell the marines where to drive to then perhaps that would make it more feasible. It would be nice if they could at least patrol around in a vehicle; same with the Banished, but it makes sense the way it is now.
At least they’re working on it.
